Tilson really has not got a clue!

we need some experience like goats again who is nearing the end of their career that we could steal... Andy Cole?????

Michael Ricketts? 'Nuff said :hilarious:

Seriously, I think the Goat was a very rare find and genuinely still wanted to play football. It would be a mistake to think that we would necessarily be able to get someone as good with as much commitment again.

fraid cureton would be crap for us if his strike partner was bradbury what are some of you watching the guy wins no headers and when he does manage to get the ball at his feet he passed straight to a col u player not good enough tilson for this division and never has been col u will never get an easier game then that

I'm not a big fan of Foran anyway and today has done nothing to turn me round. £150,000, Jesus. Still can't work out why we couldn't have spent that on Agogo in the summer but there you go. Richie was obviously busy thinking about where he was going to get hammered tonight.

Bradbury along with Clarke are the only 2 to come out that with any credit whatsoever. Freddy had a good first half but couldn't sustain his one man band in the second.

Colchester once again proved what they have that we don't. First of all organisation and leadership, because we've got naff all of either of those. Second of all they're a team, we're a bunch of individuals.

I thought that perhaps Tilly might have buckled and had a moan about the players, but I see he's once again opted for the nice formal approach. The first goal killed us!? So we were finished after 38 seconds were we?

Colchester had the bollocks to go and win the game.

And to be fair to them they looked like one of the best sides ive seen this season.

£150,000 ohhhhh my god i'd forgotten we've paid money for him. I refuse to beleive there were not proven goal scoreres out there this season that we could have got hold of and who would have done a job in keeping us up this season. Tommy Mooney for one. Big fat and old but he scores goals ..just look at Windass for Hull.

Pity you could not have got Teddy Sheringham on loan, he is not getting a look in at Wet Spam these days. Yes he is getting on a bit (well a lot for a footy player!) but like Cureton he is a very intelligent player who scores goals out of nothing. Yes he may have cost a fair bit in wages, but not as much as relegation will cost you. But at our financial level, its not about signing players for big fees, its getting reasonable players with experience, and turning them into a solid team. To be honest we did not play that well today, we didnt need to, but our game plan snuffed out your threat, and the early goal killed your players off straight away. If you have recorded the SKY coverage take a look at the players in the tunnel as they come out onto the pitch. Maher looks scared to turn round, Duguid is laughing and joking with Gerken and the other Colchester players, geeing them up and calming any nerves. In my opinion, your lads were beaten before they were even on the pitch.

Similar to when we done you 3-0 at home last year then? You've had a couple of good results. Remember you're still a tiny club that will come down with a bump soon.

Very true mate, last season you slaughtered us in both games, I thought we were poor at your place, but the game at Layer Road was a joke. I honestly would not have minded losing today if it meant you guys stayed up, one of my brother in law's is a life long Shrimper and is pretty down at the minute.

You really are a credit to your fans, unlike the majority of the idiots that post on cu-fchat.com and some of the kids that come on here. It's good to at least be able to hold a sensible discussion with rival fans on Shrimperzone, even if you are a carrot cruncher :finger:

Cheers Chris, perhaps its because I have the same name as you (Well the Chris bit anyway!) I must admit I thought we would lose today, but it was obviously one of those days when most of your lads lost heart quickly. Hopefully we can do Leeds at our place on Monday, to help you guys recover a little.

I can't believe I am saying this, but Duguid led his team like Big Kev should have today...I may be wrong, but there was no leadership out there today, and God knows somebody needed to give that direction to us, given the fact that Tilly and Brush did not move once from the dugout. I haven't been this depressed about a Southend game for a long time.

Karl is a lot better player than you boys give him credit for.

That's the most depressing and gutless display since Huddersfield in '97 when we laid down and died and were relegated.

Let's just hope the key players like Maher, Flavs, JCR etc all stay cos Eastwood will go in the summer. The only ray of hope we can take is that (although I would hope we sign a couple of strikers and release the likes of Harrold in the summer) Paynter and Hoops have done well on loan and could well forge a decent partnership for us next season.
