Three Key Games For Tilson

its amazing how people are talking about sacking tilly. hes a bloody excellent manager, best we've had in a long time. i think everyone is expecting way too much from a team who have had 2 promotions in a row. we didn;t get a chance to get used to league 1 thats why i think we are having trouble at the moment. i think its hopefully a matter of time before we start winning again. this is a very tough league to be in and at the moment we are not quite good enough and honestly our squad is not as good as many others who have x prem players in. it will take time and i think we should support rather than talk about getting a new manager

Reading anti Tilson posts makes me so angry! 23rd in league 2 when he took over, 2 ldv finals, 2 promotions, beating Man Utd... all in 3 years

I love him!

Who are you talking about?

Goater and Bentley are the only two players that weren't replaced adequately, at least until McCormack came in in Bennos case anyway.

Hooper is better than Gray, Francis is better than Jupp. Hammell is better than Wilson. Clarke is better than Pettefer. Not seen enough of Collis to say whether he's better than Griemink.

Mark McGhee
Brian Horton

To name but a few....
Cannon and Ball
Timmy Mallett
David Blunkett
Musical Youth
Victoria Silvstedt
Skippy the Bush Kangaroo...............

Tee-hee. Sorry to cross-reference/paraphrase responses. Would've been funnier had I done it earlier.

But seriously though, I think a lot of clubs are too quick to get rid of managers. While its true you can't live on past glories (unless you're a Spurs fan), our 'past glories', if you like, have been in the last two seasons prior to this one, and so are definitely relevant to the debate. We've got to look at this long term. In a sense, Tilly's a victim of his own success. If we'd still been muddling through League 1, just outside the play-offs, we wouldn't be having this debate!

Also, can you imagine RM calling Tilly in and saying, "Hi Steve, I know you've taken us to back-to-back promotions, got us to two LDV finals, beaten Man Utd on the way to our first ever appearance in a league cup quarter-final, but we've lost a few games, so I'm letting you go." If I were Tilly and I got sacked, I would be absolutely livid.

And Also also, does anyone know what the relegation odds were at the beginning of the season? We must have been among the favourites and the bookies are no mugs.

And also also also, when I mention to my neutral football-following mates that some people are calling for Tilly's head they think it's nuts.

Remember three years ago, or where you supporting a different team back then?

You want constant glory, go and support Chelsea.
its annoying to see a manager do so well and everyone wanting him out because were on a bad streak pathetic really

and in my honest opinion the players we have bought in are better than we had last year besides maybe i wouldve kept benno - but overall they are decent

Lots of talk about being promoted too quickly and not spending enough time in league 1.

From what I saw of league 1, it was nothing particularly special. Why would we have benefited from more years in a very mediocre division?
