Threads about Sexual Practices

vote, yes, tell stories, less so, now I'm a father.

I can see where you're coming from there mate, but having participating in said threads this week I see no issue with the age my daughter is just now.

I'd feel differently if I was Southminster for example who's teenage daughter posts on here now!

And yet you have been quite happy to vote and tell stories on countless other threads of a similar nature Naps?

I agree with your sentiment entirely Dave, and have also enjoyed taking part in many of these threads.

However I also agree with Mad Cyril on a company's internet policy. My company is quite strict and in the main access to football messageboards & websites are restricted by times, before 0900hrs, and normally between 12 & 1400hrs. Additionally sites of a sexual nature are also blocked, therefore we have to be careful on entering a sexually themed thread. I wouldn't want to see these threads barred as some of them have been hilarious, and many of the owners/mods have willingly taken part in them. Hopefully there can be some sort of happy medium reached.

The Directors of ShrimperZone are receiving ever-increasing complaints regarding the recent posts about different sexual practices. It seems that people are posting threads on an ever-daring nature and trying to push the boundaries with each new thread.

It has been decided that any thread regarding sex that is judged to be over the top will be deleted as we are starting to lose members who do not wish to read posts that they feel are obscene. This is a step that we do not wish to impose but more and more adults are feeling upset at the level of filth creeping onto the Pub forum and despite calls of "this is the sort of thing we talk about in the pub" it is not going to be discussed on the Zone.

If people of a like mind wish to discuss anything sexual could they form their own PM gang and chat away from the forums.

I think the point we are trying to make is that The Owners have to take on board Threads or Topics that receive Many Many complaints. We are not here as Killjoy's to spoil the fun of the Pub Section , but we have to draw a line somewhere...Personally I did not have a problem with DTS's thread I even voted on it and have been known to post a few stories of my own..I did take offence to the "teabag" thread as I thought that was way over the top.

We try to keep a balanced view of all things posted but recently as Ken has stated it seems Threads were getting more and more over the top.... We cannot have a strictly 18's + Forum as I have stated before,it would be Impossible to monitor it, we have no way of telling if somebody is going to lie about there age.

The Pub section now reads..

The landlord says : "All welcome, but beware not everything will be suitable for youngsters. Please, no racist or potentially libellous posts no pornography and no overly sexual explicit material"

John.

moving the goalposts now...

i still think as long as thread titles are safe for work and contain a warning about risque topics then that should be enough to keep everyone happy. "no overly sexual explicit material" isn't really a clear explanation of what is suitable for posting IMO... and I also maintain that teabagging generally isn't a sexual act but a lewd practical joke

I haven't got kids, but surely teenagers talk about stuff WORSE than this in the playground or behind the bike sheds? If you ask me some of the videos that are shown on musical channels are far FAR worse than a jokey thread about "bum fun", where I'd imagine a teenager would get bored and head off to an easily accessable porn site.

But I don't want to upset the applecart - I don't think I generally post these kinds of threads, I'm far too much of a nerd and an innocent ;) - 'cos I flippin' love this site and I don't want it to change and divisions occur, 'cos last Saturday was one of the best nights I've had for ages.

Long may Shrimperzone continue :)

Yes Jon well whatever we do as Owners/Mods...we can sadly never please all.

So what was wrong with a masturbation thread then, I didn't use taboo or slang as a title and it was clear even before you entered the thread what it was about, was it not?

So under the new rules would Barry The Dogs "Roughest bird you have ever shagged be allowed?

Only asking as a lot of people have thought it was one of the best topics in ages.

I would also add I made the title so blatent so you didnt get all the moaning of people not knowing what the thread was about.....

DTS is a dirty minded smutty little boy who enjoys cooking instead of manly pursuits.
I am going to refer him not to the mods, but to his father, who I trust will deal with this matter in an appropriate manner.

Are you even allowed to be on internet forums at work? Don't you have work to do.

This whole thing is ridiculous, everyone on here's an adult, I'm 17 nearly 18, but nothing on here offends me (apart from MK's dancing), I see it all as a bit of light hearted fun.

I'm positive more posters will be lost through these new rules.

It seems if you don't use the 'Live Chat' then the pub section will soon be reduntant; with even the slightest taboo topic or post is having everyone in uproar.

If it's children you're worried about then, as their parent, monitor what they are going on and/or set up a filter.

BtB.

I probably should not be however most companies tolerate a small amount of personal internet use and I would imagine that the majority of posts (worthwhile posts at least) are made by those who should be working.

If these people feel unwilling or unable to continue using the site do you think the various companies who pay to advertise their goods and services (which contrubutes to the running costs of the site) will continue to do so if their target demographic walk away?

I'm not saying stop but I find it odd how people can complain about the subjects which affect them when they shouldn't even be on the sites!
