Things you've always wanted to know an answer to...

Hopefully this will become one of those threads which runs and runs on here.

Is there anything you've always wanted to know the answer to but can never seem to find out?

Maybe with some of the clever & fact obsessed posters on here we can solve your cravings for knowledge.

Here's mine.
Where were the 1940 Olympics & 1942 World Cup actually scheduled to be held before the outbreak of WWII?

The anticipated 1940 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XII Olympiad and originally scheduled to be held from September 21 to October 6, 1940, in Tokyo, Japan, were cancelled due to the outbreak of World War II.

Google is a wonderful thing

1942 FIFA World Cup
Bids:

Brazil
Germany
The outbreak of World War II canceled both the 1942 and 1946 World Cups; therefore, no vote was taken to determine a host.

Why do some biscuits (for example rich tea) have holes drilled in them yet others (for example Nice) do not?

why do people still buy cliff richard records

Do they? or do they just collect the freebies off some Sunday newspaper?

Actually, when I was first dating my now wife, she was taken to hospital, bt her Mum was too busy to visit her, as she was somewhere in the Midlands attending a Cliff Richard concert...Black magic or what!?

According to this site http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/biscuits/reviews.php3?item=7
Its due to Rich tea being primarily designed as a dunking biscuit and these are drainage holes.
I am none too sure of that explaination and I would imagine it could be something to do with the hardness of the required prouduct needing greater moisture loss during the baking process , without increased time or heat which may burn the surface, whereas the softer biscuits would need a lesser surface area for a similar "browning time" in order to retain the moisture

**Caveat** This may well be complete and utter bolockys lifted out of thin air all for the sake on attempting to impress ...

Why do I always get a drip of wee in my pants as soon as I put the old fella away after having a slash?
Sometimes I shake it for a while to make sure it doesn't happen, to no avail.

I need answers people. Do you have any idea how many pairs of pants I've ruined?

Thanks

They don't really

Apart from Collection Albums (which are , I suppose people re-buying the old material they used to have) cliff has had two lbums and a shameless Xmas Album in the last 7 years
As for Singles , Thank You for a Lifetime reached no 3 which apart from the Xmas single (with the rerecording of Move it) is his only top 10 in 4 years (and Singles hardly have to be bought at all to make top 10 these days.

I would guess that most CR records are bought for people as opposed to for themselves (especially and the vast majority of his recent releases Album and Single, have been december releases)
