Theresa May - Dead woman walking?

I don’t think that’s what he’s saying. The DVLA aren’t instantly aware each time someone purchases car insurance online - let alone if they do it by post - but their records are accurate if just with a minor administrative delay, which is entirely reasonable. Many people have had similar inconveniences (such as putting a sign in your windscreen to say your parking permit is in the post or ‘the cheque’s in the post your honour ). The police would speak to drivers of cars without insurance, tax or dodgy tail lights. I got spoken to once when I was younger for not wearing a seatbelt. That is normal and correct. In George’s case no chips needed to be applied to the shoulder, all he needed to do was explain that he had just purchased the insurance and either provide evidence there and then (the beauty of access to email on your phone these days) or pop into any police station within 24 hours with details. Many people have needed to do something similar without needing to claim victimisation.
Was the car a recent purchase? I don't recall seeing that written anywhere.

I saw footage at the time it happened and if I had been dealt with in that way I would have a chip on my shoulder about the incident.

Anyway I was trying to get away from protracted discussions on here. My only reason for posting was to correct the misconception that he had broken the law - he hadn't.

Yeah, quite a few threads to trawel through ( don't want to make assumptions without proof do we) but then you know all about that. Patience my closet racisist, all will be revealled in time.

That's the trouble with your kind. You never apologise.

No it just gave the police some ‘tude’ And refused to move his hands out of his waste band.... Just make old Babylon a little nervous.

So if that’s his best example of xynephobic Britain

Yes if old George thinks he’s got it tough he should look at Tommy Robinson. He never broke the law, never pleaded guilty and wasnt allowed his solicitor, despite several reaquets.

So the original member of the audiance. was right in his statement.

But you supported Martin McGuiness a racist and a murderer.....anyone who does that has no credibility when it comes to racism.

Back in the 70’s English children with Irish parents were under orders not to engage their own mothers in conversation on public transport if there had been a recent bombing.... Their accent would attract open and hostile abuse from someone... It was allowed in the 70’s.

Your support of the IRA, born out of total ignorance and desire to look cool by following a cause.... Helped create an atmosphere of hate towards the Irish. My own mother received hate mail and even a hate valantines card one year.

You don’t have to be a person of colour to be a victim of racism. White uni educated Liberal bigots and those professional victims like George should remember that.

I have never been a supporter of the IRA. Sinn Féin,the IRA's political wing most certainly.

Come on Tangers! There is no need to shoot your foot before you put it in your mouth!!!
Maybe NOW Sinn Fein can claim to be (almost, & trying a small bit) to be non violent and "democratic" but not too long ago they were not shy of the bullet and bomb process.
And I am sure you are not racist, maybe a bit blinkered or idealistic.

:Off Topic: Not quite sure this is pertinent to a thread on Mrs May. And before anyone mentions it,in post 446 I was merely defending myself against supporting the IRA,which I never have.Yet again Rigsby throws a dead dog on the table to swerve the debate.

The main political objective of Sinn Féin is to strive for a united Ireland. Meanwhile ,according to WIki :- "Sinn Féin is a democratic socialist and left-wing party.[97] In the European Parliament, the party aligns itself with the European United Left–Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) parliamentary group. The party pledges support for minority rights, migrants' rights, and eradicating poverty."

I would agree with you that in the past it would appear to have had links with the IRA but not now.

You brought up the subject of racism. I was pointing out that white British are targeted like everyone else.

Sinn Fein are based on hatred for all things British. Probably why Corbiyn, Abbott and you yourself are attracted to them.

Their leaders like Adams and McGuiness are former IRA murderers. The fact that they no longer wanted to get their hands dirty but were happy to fund and order others to kill and be killed shows us all how ignorant those that supported their cause really are.

Let’s not Also forget the overwhelming majority including many Catholics have always wanted to remain part of the UK.

Still as we have now found out after voting Brexit.... Certain people believe they are above democracy.

I've had to put a couple of members on ignore because I'm fed up with people accusing me of being a "closet racist" or supporting the IRA.Neither of these accusations are supported by a shred of evidence and neither is true,of course. They're clearly being used by certain posters as a tactic to shut down debate with people whose legitimate opinions they disagree with.Is it just me or does anyone else think that the level of political "debate" on SZ has reached an all time low?

If you want debates to improve why don’t stop coming on here and posting attention seeking comments like we are all xenophobia, racist etc...

Or failing that man up a bit and defend what you started. Rather than seek more attention by publicly bleating over the answers you deserve.

If the cap fits.

Well if the news leaking out is to be believed, a leadership challenge by the end of next week.
She has been summoned to the 1922 Committee on Wednesday.
Pretty ugly language being used:

A senior Brexiteer told the Mail on Sunday: ‘She should bring her own noose to the ’22. Short of an uncharacteristically powerful, persuasive and coherent performance, then I think her time will be up.’

This one too:

Tory MP Johnny Mercer said he has received ‘overwhelming’ support from within the party since he described the government as a ‘****show’.
He told The Sunday Times: ‘I cannot continue to support an administration that cannot function.’

Good news for Conservatives. Still wont happen just yet as it was always part of the their plan

Screaming Corbynistas will punch thenselves drunk screaming at May and then along will come a saviour like Boris to sweep them to power.

David Davis seems to be favourite but he achieved nothing as Brexit Secretary and then quit so that is a bit damning if he is seen as the best option.

Might as well switch the lights off now rather than wait for them to go out if that's the best they can do. Can this country go any lower, politically speaking?
