I have been told that Boylan has been given a free transfer by Canvey - and I wouldn't have thought Tilly would go for him now we are in the Championship.
And Boylan does not want to be a full time footballer anyway!

By the way............how's your purple womb ferret Si?

I'm sure that I read in the Echo that he was looking for a move to a league club
Oh give me a break. There is no way Simon's purple womb ferret would get a move to a league club!

Too true.

Michael Nelson?
Adam Boyd?
Boyd's knee is very very dodgy apparently & he only played some of the final games of the season against doctor's advice to try & keep Hartlepool up.

Nelson or Porter could possibly do us a job.

At least we know it won't be Tinkler

Well we cant have done the Nelson shout any harm with that card that went round the Spread thanking him for promoting us!

First released player mentioned that has any semblance of joining us I think is Lee Harrison (Goalkeeper) just released by Peterborough.

Former O's keeper. I have a hunch he might well come to us as Darryl's back-up.???

Anyone else see in the echo the other day that Ron and Tilly meet on Tuesday to discuss transfers. I wonder what names were thrown into the hat? I definilty, definitly think Byfield will be a Southend man come 5th August

Kyel Reid? Would be an awesome signing. think of Mitchell Cole but stronger and also more defensively sound. He is just as quick with dribbling skills to match. Would be a great assest for us in the Championship. Think he can also play either wing but unsure. He is stil learning though so prone to the occassional mistake but still will be a very good loan singing.

Quote[/b] (SUFCFARAWAY @ May 08 2006,13:28)]I have heard that if Brentford are not promoted via the playoffs then a certain borher of Efe could be plying his trade at Roots Hall next season. It is understood that Efe has commented to his broher what a great place it is to play and that with also the chance to play Championship football Sam could be tempted if Brentford are not promoted. The asking rpice is believe to be around 90,000 - 120,000. you heard it hear first!
That's not what Efe told me (when I acted as his cabbie) a few weeks ago!  Efe reckoned that Sam would be aiming for, possibly, a small London-based Premier$hite club...

Is it only me that thinks having his big brother here would make it less, rather than more, likely for Sam to sign for us?  The constant comparison would be a bit of a burden, wouldn't it?

My understanding was that it was Mrs. Beckett who had absolutely no desire to move south - even though Luke himself was as keen as mustard to sign for us.

I'd be amazed if Beckett joined us in the summer; besides, I expect Oldham to be amongst the League One challengers next season, so he's at a decent club in many ways.

Much more amusing is how greedy Greenacre and Tranmere got on this season. Delighted that we missed out on that particular mercenary.

Saw that Kyle Reid make his debut for the Hamsters a short while ago. He looked VERY promising. If we signed him it wouldnt be the worst thing in the world but I doubt Tilly would go for a relatively unknown quantity at the start of the season. If we start struggling, this type of player would be a breath of fresh air but not as a permenant for me

Just seen this thread on 606:

Simon Francis

It would seem that Simon Francis, who has been at Tranmere this season but who is owned by Sheffield United, has been put on the transfer list. I thought he was the mutt's nuts when we went up to Prenton Park - the best right back I've seen in bloomin' ages.

SIGN HIM UP!!!

Beckett actually gave the reason to the club that he didn't realise quite just how far South we are.

No lie.
