The Rob Noxious Retro Radio Show

Poetic licence I assume?:winking:
I doubt if Elsie(aka Kit)would ever have done such a thing.
Also, I remember you as being a pretty good footballer as a kid, so can hardly imagine you having to wait to be picked last. The last part rather beggar's belief too.:hilarious:

It's not my story - it's Lugwin's. :stunned:

Greetings, groovers! Lazy Sunday afternoons will begin in earnest on http://www.thesourcefm.co.uk/listen this Sunday at 4.30pm as Berrichonne's favourite "I'm great me" poster on SZ takes you on the next instalment of our never ending Retro Radio journey. There'll be a couple of tracks from some local troubadors (Phil Burdett and Chris Robson) on this show and I'll be keeping the chat down to a minimum as it's only an hour to squeeze in some classic retro ... and some new retro too! I'm betting Tiger Tone is moist already. :smiles:

Understood, Rich. Hey,talking of live music - I've just managed to get Phil Burdett a gig at The Blue on November 11th. I'm looking forward to seeing how he manages with a couple of Spingoes on board. :smiles:

Looks like a good one Rob - will be there

Greetings, groovers! I'm preparing for the full ninety minutes this Sunday with a few songs about dogs and also chatting about Mick Jones' recent return to doing Clash numbers on stage again. I'll be celebrating Wilko Johnson once more (as he's playing down here next week) and giving out a few birthday dedications. Tune in to http://www.thesourcefm.co.uk/listen at 4.30pm where I'll be doing my best to keep it canine and Retro.

Rob,
Watch out for Billy Bragg on Question Time next Thursday.

Ha - saw the end of QT last week and immediately put it on the recording schedule. On a related musical note, if you do head off to Coney Island to pay homage to Woody (cf. "WAYLTN?' thread), then make sure you don't hang around Mermaid Avenue in the evening.

Not really related to Billy Bragg, apart from the left wingery, saw the Angelic Upstarts at the weekend.

Rousing rendition of 'Solidarity'...

Despite all the years, they produced an hour and a half of proper Punk rock :drummer:

Superb! Didn't realise Mensi & co. were still at it - I loved their debut album 'Teenage Warning' (which is up in my vinyl vault in the attic studios) and remember feeling the exhilaration when Peelie played 'I'm An Upstart' on his late show in early '79. Great stuff, Sir.

"Ziggy played guitar ..."

Here's something rare ... a couple of Noxcasts without a mistake!

http://t.co/aUdk6g7nhttp://i.mixcloud.com/CmTHV

http://i.mixcloud.com/CmT9B

These two have got lots of Bowie material from the Ziggy era - live recordings for the Beeb in '72 - and an interview with one of the Ziggy Astronets, Ian Oliver, who was Bowie's Stage Manager in '72. Great story about a fight between the Bowie & Roxy Music roadies at The Rainbow show - "they both lost." :hilarious:

He also talks about his time as Chelsea's reflexologist in the Hoddle era and of Tim ('Auf Wiedershen, Pet') Healey's recent karaoke capers in Cornwall. Who says nothing happens out in the country?

Keep it Ziggy Retro!

"Lazy Sunday afternoon ..." (Part 1)

Noxcast from 25.9.11 featuring: The Small Faces, The Faces, The Kinks, Phil Burdett, Jackie Leven, Chris Robson, Iggy Pop, The Clash and Bobby Fuller Four ... http://i.mixcloud.com/CmfiP ... Keep it Retro!

God Rob!! It's been a busy summer (and Autumn)..........I'm just catching up with all this. (Did we make any good signings this summer???) GREAT!..........keep up the good work!.........and like the Blues (Rock'n) Roll on from success to success.

Tune in - it's for charity!

Greetings, groovers! Here's the recent charity special promoting good works in the community >

http://i.mixcloud.com/CnnXp

Here's hoping this will help to keep it canine it in for SHAK, a charity which provides safe homes and kindness for doggies in distress. There's also a feature on the 'Justice For The 96' campaign about a benefit gig in Liverpool where Mick Jones played some Clash numbers. Music from: Chairmen Of The Board, Iggy & The Stooges, Shack, Nilsson, The Who, The Clash, Pete Wylie and Linton Kwesi Johnson. Keep it canine!

Working On A Building Of Love (part 2)

http://i.mixcloud.com/CoDGJ ... this one celebrates our going top of the table this week that was with music from Wilko Johnson, Mink De Ville, Ronnie Lane, The Beach Boys, The Lovin' Spoonful, Slade, The Move, ELO and Neil Young.

Under Pressure Retro
