When do you think the embargo will be cleared?

I think he said that if Ron wanted to sell - he knew potential buyers. Ron doesn't want to sell. Don't see how you can blame Stan for that.

Quite... I suspect Stan would know more potential investors than everyone on here put together. He maybe very useful if the house of cards comes down. There is some nonsense and unfair criticism being scattered around right now. Frustration and generally letting off steam.

And still achieve nothing
And just what is sitting around on our hands achieving? We are in dire straits on and off the pitch. The club is in serious danger of no longer existing, we as fans need to stop being so passive about this.

With Ron the club will go under, without him we may just have a chance

It will achieve equally as much and I agree it is sad but Ron holds all the cards and this is something you are just going to have to get used to and quite honestly am surprised that you haven't already. I hate this as much as the next guy but the protests before were putting people in danger for no gain and I do not want to see people needlessly hurt for a result they are not going to get.

Achieve nothing ? Did you notice how he all of a sudden started to do zoom calls with the supporter groups, appointed a CEO and possibly led to a change the manager / coaching staff ! In my opinion, all he cares about is his shiny new stadium and to acheive that he needs the fans on his side.

Okay and what exactly did those zoom calls achieve?

The CEO and coaching sraff apparently was due to Stan.

I saw nothing from the protests other than people putting themselves in harms way for no reason.

I am all for a protest if it is a) done in a sensible manner which has proven it can't and b) if I felt our efforts would be of use.
He does only want the stadium you are correct but he doesn't need us to get it.

Ron still had to agree to the CEO and Stan's involvement, and that was helped by the pressure we put him under in the zoom calls / protests etc. I agree that protests should be done sensibly (it would be wise for the supporters groups to make sure their members stay off the pich and do not disrupt the players) however I disagree regarding the fans and the stadium. If he didn't need our support why has he done so much promotional work to get the fans to back the stadium in the past ?

Pretty sure the Stan thing grew from Stan himself in both the first and second instance. Please do bare in mind I don't proclaim to be correct on everything so could be wrong.

It is your right to protest but after the last ones which I think were poorly done, please play safe.

Protest is the only way that fans can voice their opinion!
It has worked at other clubs so there is no reason it cannot work out Southend United.

Ron Martin OUT Now!

Poorly done????
Just look how much national and international attention it brought to our clubs plight and the shady dealings of Mr slippery Martin

Yeah CEO and stans involvement were pre the recent protests. Managerial changes were post protests.

Having read through this thread, there appears to be a suggestion that if you are not pro-protest, then you are pro-Ron. All I would say is that until there is a viable alternative, we don't want Ron out

Agreed. The sad thing is he has over a barrel. The truth is if he won't sell he holds all the cards. If he doesn't pay or just lets us rot even more we won't have a club. He won't sell.

And another thing to the Stan haters. He doesn't have to help. We need every bit of help we can get. No one will touch us with a barge pole. Toxic fans, players, owner. He can't do anything if we haven't got the money to support his proposition. If you want to drive him and Tom out with some of these comments then watch us go down further.

I think the real sad thing about this embargo is that we are going to lose the Sheffield lads. I would have prefered to have lost them to a league side rather than because of our own financial problems. Only problem now is that we won't be able to replace them.

The Club can confirm that the National League have placed us under embargo whilst we finalise the terms of a Time To Pay agreement with HMRC in relation to debt that accrued during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Like many other businesses that had reduced income during the pandemic, HMRC has agreed to allow us some time to repay historic debt.

Unlike many other clubs, we did not borrow money from the Premier League and do not have any bank borrowings. Southend has been supported by Ron and Group Companies through the pandemic.

With a reasonable approach from both parties we hope to conclude our discussions with HMRC shortly.

The embargo is not expected to prevent signings of new players when they are identified and terms agreed.
But will prevent them actually playing ..my love of sufc is so nearly gone
I ****in hate Ron Martin, no doubt a great husband , father , a great guy to be around ..but on a business level has driven our club ..yes our club into the ground

When do we get to the bottom of the barrel... how close are we now to being the next Bury FC and Roots Hall the next Gigg Lane.

That is a lie. It has prevented a couple of signings already. Don't get drawn in by the spin. Technically they're right, embargo doesn't stop signings, but it does stop us registering players. Who's gonma want to join us if they don't know when they'll be able to play?

I guess this is the same situation as poor Simeon Akinola found himself in last season.
