Think the club would have been offered more were it not for Mohsni's incredibly public "I'm not going back". Doesn't put the club in a great bargaining position, think the most we'll get is 250k if we are lucky.

Lets the games begin, I reckon this will be fun watching the bargaining play out. Well done to the club for not taking first offer tho.

Of course he enjoyed it when he came back, he was actually playing and had the fans behind him. Re the never in doubt that I would return here, well you can read that any way you want to
  • Thank god I have a job
  • I want to be at Southend as it is the 'easy ' option (been here before , fans hero, family local- knows he has now failed twice at a higher level).
  • No one else was paying the same
  • gets me playing again, if I do well hopefully I can move elsewhere.
  • Play for a premiership club- don't be daft, I could't break into a Championship starting 11 regularly

I am not having a dig at Eastwood, and I don't necessarily agree with the above points , I am just illustrating that we can read something and without knowing ALL THE FACTS all any of us are doing is guessing.

I am under no illusion that the signing of "Freddy" this season it suited both parties. I.E:The fans love him and I am sure that he will do his best to put bums on seats and sell shirts. I do believe however that he is still a good player and your point about failing at a higher level is not entirely correct as he scored goals for us in the championship. If he gets his head down and works hard I am sure he will score goals at our level, at least you know what you are getting. If after two years he scores loads of goals and moves on again then I for one will settle for that.

I'd take 200 with a substantial sell-on clause and maybe throw one of their players in on loan into the bargain. Remember, we got him for nothing and we need to get rid of him. We're not going to get any more than that with his discipline issues. Do they have any good young goalkeepers? :winking:

If it's true Scum Ham have made an offer and SUFC have rejected the bid it's likely the Scummers will be back with another perhaps 50k plus add ons. Which I think the club should accept.

West Ham have never had a good goal keeper, young, old or otherwise.

Listen, it is very unlikely that he will play even 50 games for the Hamsters - he isn't good enough for Premiership football, and we all know that. Get as much as possible up front with a sell-on clause when he inevitably goes to a Championship or League 1 side next summer.

Either way, get rid and get rid soon. Am sure this is holding up two or three signings...
