I havent seen or heard anything to suggest they have tabled a bid, but £100k odd for a player like Mohsni is nothing. Loan him to a championship club for the season and see if he is worth keeping.

Even then they will still recoup the 100k at the end even if he is not premier league standard.

Premier clubs do this sort of thing all the time.

Personally think that the only way that Moshni will ever get in the hammers side is in the championship.

Which, on the form they showed in the match against us, is pretty much nailed on for the end of this season!

I didn't go to the game so can't comment too much but pre season results don't mean anything. A 3-0 win is still very comfortable and I doubt Big Sam will have been losing much sleep that it wasnt 5 or 6. I do think West Ham need to add some premiership quality and experience to their side if they're gonna stay up but don't think their comfortable win against us is an indicator things aren't going well.

Exactly . We are a league 2 side who hadnt played a single game and they had already been training for a few weeks.

They should hammer teams like us, but made hard work of it .

I wouldnt take much notice of friendlies. Remember seeing Neil Tolson score a hatrick against Crystal Palace for us in a huge win and they had a fair few first team players.

.......we were awful that season.

Yes, I am in the "tremendous pre-season is not a good sign" camp ............. not wishing to be negative but sometimes a host of pre-season good performances can mean a sub-conscious complacency resulting in the team getting "turned over" come the start of the season .........

Every player and manager says it "its not about results its about fitness."

There are obvious benefits of having a good preseason for confidence levels and things like that but other than that they are just meaningless friendlies.

I'll agree that I expected West Ham to give us a really good hiding. They had an advantage in fitness as we'd only just come back into training, and Premiership players would have higher fitness levels anyway. Then you add in that they have superior quality in every position and we had a few trialists who didn't know their team mates names. All these reasons point to a heavy defeat for the home side being on the cards. That I agree with.

However the weather was awful that day with many people commenting that the game would have been called off if it wasnt a pre-season game. Those conditions are a leveller of sorts as the higher division side would have struggled to get the quick passing going that you associate with Premiership sides. So winning 3-0 in those conditions is still comfortable. If it had been a beautiful summers day with all of the above factors still the same we probably would have got the thrashing you expected.

Anyway I think you get my point. It wasn't that I didn't understand you OBL, I just didn't agree.

Chris Phillips‏@CJPhillips1982 Just spoke to bilel mohsni. He's still training with west ham but does not know what is happening with his future yet.
Bilel said he should know more after the weekend but has been denied permission to play by southend for west ham's game tomorrow

Stone me - 33 pages already!!....come on lads, keep going... let's see if we can get to 50 pages before anything of note actually happens.

You've got a point but the irony of you adding to the 33 pages of nothing-ness with your complaint is quite funny.

Bilel has been at the Hapless for long enough for them to get his measure surely? On a positive it does keep his wages off the club's balance for a short while but Nandos must be suffering loss of income.

Fredy Eastwood ""It was never really in doubt that I would come here," Eastwood told the official website today."I came back at the end of last season and really enjoyed it and I am happy to come back permanently now. Well theres one for a start. If you think that none of our players wants to be at the club then why do you support them? "Bilel" has had a trial for the spammers, a premier league side, I hope for our sake they take him on, because he has been badly advised about how to go about things professionally. The fact that he has had the permission of the club(allegedly)to do this(We are hardly in a position to say no!) just insults the fans intelligence.

Of course he enjoyed it when he came back, he was actually playing and had the fans behind him. Re the never in doubt that I would return here, well you can read that any way you want to
  • Thank god I have a job
  • I want to be at Southend as it is the 'easy ' option (been here before , fans hero, family local- knows he has now failed twice at a higher level).
  • No one else was paying the same
  • gets me playing again, if I do well hopefully I can move elsewhere.
  • Play for a premiership club- don't be daft, I could't break into a Championship starting 11 regularly

I am not having a dig at Eastwood, and I don't necessarily agree with the above points , I am just illustrating that we can read something and without knowing ALL THE FACTS all any of us are doing is guessing.
