As the manager has said that he won't play for us again I would think has value has plummeted to very little. £100,000 max.

I really doubt it's the case anyway. We're talking peanuts to West Ham, especially as he's probably going to be on low wages. If they take him on trial for a couple of weeks and decide that he's good enough to get in their squad then they're unlikely to quibble too much over a couple of hundred grand.

I think we'll do alright out of this transfer if it goes through.

Thinking about it I reckon there could be loads of sell ons and ons for appearances etc. Hope he does one now as he ain't much use to us anymore.

I have kept my distance from this story as I didn't see anything in it. But the whole thing has been blown up to be something it isn't.

So Moshni wants to leave to better himself as a player. So, what's wrong with that? I can't believe what people are saying. Why so much anger and hatred?? I just don't get it. For me, I don't think that Bilel has done anything wrong.

He has explained his reasons for wanting to leave, and I fully understand what he is saying. Seems that many SUFC fans don't.

He may have explained but I don't think that excuses his conduct.

He was obviously very happy to sign the contract that Luggy put in front of him. Shame he hasn't got the honour to stick to it. Again, I say it's a shame he can't be sacked and sued for breach of contract.

There is, of course, another massive side to this, and the whole situation may be a very shrewd move on the club's part... it is very possible that Mohsni was put into the position of having to sign a new contract with the knowledge that he would be on his way anyway, hence his comments that he feel he can do well elsewhere - so that we could sell him on and maximise the investment in him, no doubt with sell on /appearance clauses etc.

It was a massive gamble on Sturrock's part in the first place to bring him from park football in Paris into the UK and League 2, and although there is no doubt what a huge talent he is, it comes with a whole bunch of problems that a League 2 club (and not just Southend) probably hasnt got the resources to deal with. West Ham will have those resources, and will probably be willing to take a gamble on him. I, for one, wish him all the best of luck as Bil isnt vindictive, just naive and alone in a foreign country - lets face it, if people like Joey Barton can still play in the premiership with his attitude and discipline problems, I think that Mohsni's antic are small fry! From any player's perspective after all, there is nothing wrong with ambition and making / taking opportunities that come along.

yes but have you got your yellow shirt yet...................................

For his sake, he must do well for **** Ham, but I rather they sign him up as its a risk to take him for further trials, what if he break his leg on **** Ham first game in German? Who going to pay for it?

Well said.
If Bilel is guilty of anything it may be a touch of naivity on his part with the handling of the current situation, I wish him good luck and think it is a positive thing that one of our players has progressed and now has the opportunity to better himself.
Also, as Ms Brush says, there are two sides to this story, am sure we will have a reasonable sell-on, appearances etc clause.
Life's too short to be bitter, wish the guy well and remember those magic moments he gave us.

Not if your name was Marco Boogers they didn't.

Oh but we do.... he explained it on facebook..... is that the way modern day footballers should communicate or should he have "twittered" it....????

He has clearly showed no respect to the club who could have terminated his contract during last season last season. I don't think he would have had a trial at West Ham if that had happened...

He has gone about this in a far worse way than others like Nicky Bailey did. He pretty much refused to come back at all to training and told all of his friends on facebook, of which he has many, many Southend fans, that he wasn't coming back.

His english isnt that great though so what he said on FB in english might not quite be what he was thinking in French

I totally agree with you.... Did Grant make any statements about his intentions to leave and play at a higher level???? Albiet Stevenage and League 1.... No...

Grant conducted his business "off line" and left the club. I'm sure his agent was looking for a good deal just like Moshni's...

But there was no cloak and dagger approach...

The "wedding" story just gave his agent more time to find a club that would give him a trial.

He hasn't breached his contract. Besides I'm sure he'd be more than happy to be sacked. I doubt taking the option on his contract was Mohsni's idea. The only party who loses out if he were to be sacked is SUFC.

To think that a year or two ago, people said that Southend United had crap PR. They've spun the Mohsni situation perfectly.
