That's quite funny, of course the Sux fan got what he deserved when the they lost to the Rays the next night. Damn White Sux.
Soooooo...it's Dice K against Shields down at the Trop on Saturday night. And if it does go the distance, Lester will get game 7.
Bring it!
Don't worry, it will get brought. By holding Lester back for game three, don'thca think the Sux are admitting they can't win at the Trop?
Not sure by that tbh. Lester is good against you chaps, so if it went to a game 7, who better to put in there I suppose. Also, sending a guy out who has 18 wins this season for game 1 shouldn't be seen as 'admitting we can't win at the Trop'. If we were to adhere to that, Mike Timlin would be put out for 9 innings whilst the others play snap on David Ortiz's big belly in the dugout :D
I know I'm being overly downbeat - but the Rays HAD to win Game One at home to win this series. Despite his impressive W-L, Dice K was considered number three by most observers - Shields and the pen did their job by limiting Boston to two runs on seven hits, but the Rays' bats were stone cold. Now it's the struggling Kazmir against the King of October - and all the momentum is with the Red Sux. I hate to say it, but I smell sweep.
whilst you lot are all salivating over the Rays, the Phillies have quietly gone 3-1 up in the NLCS, with Hamels ready for game 5.
Respect to the Phils for dealing with LA - many observers (including both of us loz) feared that the Dodgers' momentum could be lightning in a bottle, but the Phils have kept their cool and their superior talent is winning the day.
But you have to understand why people are looking at the Rays. This is a perennial doormat, and they aren't just beating the defending chumps in their own park, they are BEATING THE **** OUT OF THEM! I will be cautious until I see the 4 in the W column, but Boston looks like a beaten team.
