Best team won, worst refereeing performance i have witnessed at this world cup ,that American referee should be ashamed to call herself a referee, as for one persons remark about the ref being a homer ,i feel happy to say that person is so one eyed he cannot see past the end of his nose, in the first 15 minutes of the game Kerr had her foot stamped on , her legs taken from under her and almost had her head kicked of her shoulders whilst attempting to jump and head a ball , i saw so much shirt puling and pushes in the back go unpunished. Apart for all that England deserved the victory ,Australia did not put enough pressure on the English ladies and allowed them time on the ball too much. A good match though ,well taken goals ,have to say Kerrs was the best of them all though .

You might do well to watch a re-run of the game on the physicality front. Pushing is part of the game, always has been, and both sides were dishing it out at times. England got their tactics exactly right and had more big match experience than the Aussies. As a result, as you say, the best team won.

so raising your foot and almost kicking a persons head off is legal then okay, pueposely stamping on a persons foot and also tripping them over is part of the game , sorry i didnt know those were legal tactics now . but yes the best team won as i pointed out the day before in a post that England would win , just a shame we didnt have a better referee , but thats FIFA for you, Beware in the final maybe we will have a spanish speaking referee who knows we FIFA.

I have no idea what the crowd numbers will be for the final now that the Aussies have been eliminated, bit I would imagine that the majority of the supporters will be rooting for Spain. That will make for a hostile crowd, but no worse than yesterday, and the Lionesses look like they have the mentality to play well regardless. Bring on Sunday and the final.

I've been watching the games, and forget the heart ruling the head thing, England are a better all round team and have many more that are a goal threat. They also have been together more than the Spain team, and have an amazing team spirit. So for me, it's definitely England.

i will be very much surprised if Australia win the 3 rd place playoff , some of those players are very battle weary ,Gustavasson i think has used the same 14 players in every game ,Losing the semi final would also take a bit out of them too, for myself it dosent really matter i would like it if he gave those that havent had a run a game ,think they deserve it .On my reference about watch out theres not a Spanish speaking ref on Sunday wasnt bad eggs ,its just to say dont trust FIFA. , I wish the England team good luck ,they will be over whelming favourites thats for sure.

Agree about the ref, ropey at best, unfortunately seems she’s now been appointed to ref the final! Imo the standard of officiating generally hasn’t been good enough for such a major tournament.

Haven't seen Spain this time around, was going back to their performance in last year's Euros -when most people thought they were unlucky to go out to England.FWIT I think Sunday will be a much closer game than against the Matildas
