Tested positive today with main symptom a sore throat. Seems to be coming out as a cold this evening - as a youngster at 64 not yet had my booster.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait 28 days for your booster as you cannot have it within the 28 days

Had a text from the doctors few weeks ago rattling my cage about the flu jab. Was walking past said quacks on Wednesday and thought I'd ask. Emerged ten minutes later booked in for flu and Chinese flu booster at the same time in two weeks time.

1.First of all I resent being called an "anti-vaxxer", which has just become a catch-all term for anyone who dared to question the effectiveness of lockdowns/masks/the vaccine, and another way for government and media to divide people. I am not anti-vaccines in general, I've never refused a vaccine before, I am just pro-choice and sceptical about one that was rushed through in less than a year, that people have been coerced or bribed into having, that seemingly has to be topped up every few months, and that has caused thousands of serious adverse reactions in this country alone.

2.As for saving my life, as a healthy young person my chances of dying from COVID are virtually zero. It's about weighing up risks and benefits. For me, the benefits of having the vaccine don't outweigh the risks, especially as it clearly isn't very good at stopping you from catching, spreading or falling ill with COVID.

Anyway, better stop before this is taken down for 'misinformation'.
1.Sorry but if the cap fits...

2.As it happens I was talking about our older daughter's partner. FWIW,he's not what I'd describe as a young person but seems healthy enough.TBH it's his influence on our daughter's health that I worry about (rather than his own).

We have had our 2 day stop over in HK cancelled now due to COVID and the restrictions

Had my booster today. Was booked in for 7 but received a phone call asking if I could have it sooner (guessing they wanted an early finish) Popped in at 10 and was in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Slight sore arm but otherwise fine

Make sure you have the Paracetamol at hand as you may need it tomorrow. Hopefully not

I'd usually take a paracetamol as a very last resort. I've never been able to take pills without gagging.

Out of interest, why the wait 15 minutes in the car afterwards?

I’d say it is a prudent move. The government has just extended arrival restrictions (unless you are a banker here for a conference) which means arrivals are free to go about but not enter bars, restaurants, museums or
other touristy things for 3 days after arrival. That’s on top of 4 compulsory PCR tests and god forbid you test positive.

With autumn coming overnight temperatures have dropped below 25C. Bizarre as it sounds that’s the onset of cold and flu season here.

I’d say China has succeeded in numbing the population which is now subservient borne out by the strict adherence to mask wearing even in the great outdoors, riding a bike etc in 30 plus and humid climate. The saddest thing is seeing the sub 2 year olds in masks and shields.

All brought about by the refusal of the elderly to get vaccinated which resulted in high percentage deaths when the comparatively docile Omicron swept through.

Sheer madness. I live out in the countryside and exercising is exempt. Proof of 20K plus steps per day on my phone (and I have been stopped several times). When I go for my morning walk locally i despair at the lemmings dutifully wearing the mask on a morning stroll.

Don’t get me wrong. If this was 2020 the measures would have been totally appropriate. We’ve had over 2 years of ignored science.
