See my second comment, Pfizer openly said they hadn't tested transmissibility when they released the vaccine, there was no lying at any point from them.
I just read your second point.I am pro vaccine and felt it was best for me but can understand some people being apprehensive.

One thing is for certain, without Covid vaccinations the worldwide death toll from this virus would have been far higher than it eventually was, and still is. I find it incredible that some still think that vaccines were not worth developing and constantly try to denigrate them.
And there is more positives to the rapid research, other medical advances have been developed and researched in parallel.
It is a poor analogy, but similar to the way warfare has improved treatment of wounds, so covid has hastened virus research and cures.

Me and her got our mature persons 2022 Flu jabs this morning. So far so good, nothing aches at all for the moment.
Today we've got headaches, arm aches and thus collective arse ache. Hopefully this is the last of the pricks in the arms for 2023.

I am not disputing that. What I am questioning is why there was such a huge push to vaccinate everyone for a virus which predominantly kills elderly people with underlying conditions; why vaccine passports were introduced in many countries; why people who refused were vilified and even lost their jobs, when the vaccine doesn't reduce transmission? Clearly there must have been other reasons...

Anyway, seems like a lot of people just don't want to hear it.

At the early onset of the Pandemic the virus was rampaging through society across the world, killing people of all ages. You are right that elderly folk were more susceptible, and they had a higher mortality rate, partly down to the lack of suitable protection in rest homes but the death rate was not exclusively elderly person specific.

The vaccines were developed to reduce the likelihood of death, not to reduce transmission, and for that they were very successful. At the end of the day, we will never agree on this subject, so I reckon you can do you and I'll do me. That, for me, means I'm done with offering up my views.

So then why were we repeatedly told by people in government and the media that getting vaccinated would protect those around us? Why did Joe Biden tell Americans last year that "You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations"? Fauci, Gates, they all said it, when they knew it wasn't true - or at least didn't have the proof to back it up.

I think the vast majority who have had vaccinations had them to protect themselves. They know what vaccination means. This is a bit of a red herring. I'm of the generation that saw the catastrophic effect of serious illness that we now know can be effectively prevented by vaccination.
Before my birth but devastating to my family and especially my grandmother was the death of my uncle in 1930 at the age of 8 by diphtheria. He's got a very nice grave in Sutton Road.
More recently and during my lifetime polio. I was in a very early school vaccination programme and can still remember my mum talking about a young girl at the top of our road who got I'll in the morning and was dead by the afternoon.
I really cannot understand anyone refusing any vaccination. The science is there. And we have to pay for those who refuse vaccination and then get ill. Mmmm

Why are you repeatedly so anti-vax and continuallly looking for conspiracy stories? You seem extremely selective in the stuff you find to post on here, most of which is of a conspiracist nature yet actual fact and information from medical experts / authorities you let fly over your head, wonder why that is, eh?
Have a phobia of doctors and hospitals??
As for the argument that you being ‘young and healthy’ = no chance of infection, illness, death, well that‘s been disproved over and over as being totally inaccurate but no doubt you’ll continue to dispute that to……

*Disclaimer - I'm fully up to date with all vaccinations

What annoys me was the following bulls*** that was pedalled:

"Get your vaccine to save your Granny!!" - Turned out to be lies as we now know direct from Pfizer that a vaccination doesn't affect catching or transmission of the virus.

"Get your vaccine care workers / NHS staff or you will lose your job!! We need to protect our patients from you if you catch CV19!!" - Turned out to be lies as we now know direct from Pfizer that a vaccination doesn't affect catching or transmission of the virus.

Vaccine passports/mandates - completely pointless and a criminal waste of multiple millions (billions?).

You won't see this reported in the mainstream media but it's been trending on Twitter: a Pfizer director has admitted in European Parliament that the vaccine was never tested on preventing transmission before it entered the 'market':

We were lied to.

NO Vaccine prevents transmission. Vaccines are produced to slow down/ease the symptoms.

I'm not sure why you say we were lied too, everyone knew that.

Because lots of people in the MSM said the opposite to encourage people to get vaccinated, and in some cases made it a condition of employment or to enter certain venues as it would prevent transmission.

I’m in no way anti-vax and have had mine but getting vaccinated to protect other people was peddled for months by the msm and celebrities and turns out that hadn’t even been tested.

Are we really having these same old arguments 2 years later. It really is boring.

I'd usually take a paracetamol as a very last resort. I've never been able to take pills without gagging.

Out of interest, why the wait 15 minutes in the car afterwards?
I was suprised that when we had our 4th jab at a chemist's in France (about a month ago now) no wait at all was deemed to be necessary It had been requiired on the 3 previous ocasions (not at a chemist's).

Sorry I don't get all my information from BBC News. Many of the so-called 'conspiracy theories' about COVID have come true.

Where did I say being young and healthy = no chance of infection? If you're young and healthy (not obese), your chances of being seriously affected by COVID are miniscule. The average age of death from/with COVID is higher than the average life expectancy in the UK. That's a fact - if you have any evidence to disprove me, I'd be happy to see it.

I think the vast majority who have had vaccinations had them to protect themselves.
Think a lot of people - particularly younger generations - got this one because of social pressure or because they wanted to go abroad.
