The blue voice today or lack of!!!!

Well Southend have given out loads of cheap tickets to local schools for the remaining home games (only £3 for an adult & child) and the MK Dons game is also a charity game and no doubt there will be one more family fun day.

So get used to the fact that these people will want to sit together and will probably get sold the seats in the South Lower and then the blocks near the Blue Voice drummers. There are not many other areas they can sit in large groups. You try and get 4 seats together in the East Stand it is not possible.

Well i hope if they do get a new ground they give you an "end" where you can all go, preferably standing and sing your hearts out. i used to love the atmosphere

well it's not asif someone is being forced to sit there. no-one is being told, if you don't sing you will be shot. My point is (which by the way i thought was quite clear) there is no point sitting in those areas if you dont want to sing. why not give the seat to someone who will join in and get the atmosphere buzzing? if you was adament or at least had an incling you was not going to join in the singing, then why would you want to go sit there? Where do you sit by the way? and do you join in?

As there were loads of seats free in that area, I can't see what the problem is.

How can you possibly know that if you do sit in that area you are depriving someone of a seat who wants to sing. You can sing where ever you sit.

And, maybe you want to hear the singers sing because you like it and don't necessarily want to join in.

I have a season ticket in the SU and join in most of the time. I don't do the chanting copied from Tottenham though.

Maybe there were lots of free seats in block X, but not W. it was near on full. And as the stewards won't let you go in Block X without a ticket, you can't all congregate there. The problem is, southend won't sell tickets for Block W or X, so most people intent on singing just walk over and sit where they want in those blocks. I do it all the time, buy a ticket for V and move over. Fair enough. the problem comes in, as we found out on saturday, when that block W is filled with people who have no intention on singing, the atmosphere is lost. All you get is a few scattered singers who are spaced too far apart to actually generate any decent atmosphere. So your idea of people wanting to sit there and hear the singing is pointless because with the singers spread out all over the place, there will be no singing.
As for singing wherever you sit, well not really. The east stand is non existent, the south lower is full of little herberts who ain't hit puberty yet, the south upper (sat there a few times this season) TRY, but unfortunately don't get the support, so your left with the west stand, where i think as of next season should be a designated singing area. Its not too much to ask. If you don't want to sing, that's fine, spport the club in your own way, but let us do the job of creating an atmosphere and give us our own section!!!
unfortunately, as every poster on this board knows, our home support is pretty poor. Especially when you compare it to our away support. It seems the majority of people are resigned to sitting watching the game. Fair enough, you can't make anyone sing, but surely, WE ARE ALL TBV!!! i can't understand why EVERY SINGLE PERSON doesn't join in. Maybe on friday night, we should pretend we are away...

We are already in discussions with the club to make this happen.

Hopefully as of next season W Block will be the official TBV Section and tickets will be on-sale for this block for all games, regardless of demand.

Hopefully plenty of you lot will come and join us.

Well hopefully we can get this sorted. I've been switching between south upper and the west this season (mainly due to who comes with me to the games, my dad won't go in the west), and prefer sitting in the west with TBV. It does make a game so much better.

You missed off IMO there, GBJ as it is not for everyone.

I hope plans to make the section official next season come to fruition. I would have be a whole lot easier in the days of standing. But I still don't like the idea of trying deny someone a seat in the stadium that they want to pay for just because a group of people want to congregate there and do a bit of singing.

You have hit the nail right on the head. It isn't for everone. I totally agree. So if we get our small section which could possibly be 5% of the stadium, you lot have 95% of a stadium to sit in and be as quiet as you like!!! I'm what i'm trying to get across is that we should have one section, where the singers and noise makers can congregate, to try and build up a great atmosphere. We want and need as many singers to join in and help. Not people who are resigned to sitting on their hands with their mouth's closed whilst spending 20 minutes trying to work out what colour southend play in. The idea is to create an electric atmosphere. This WILL NOT happen if you have people sitting in a 'singing section' who are not prepared to join in. It really is that simple. A singing section full of quiet people (fairweather supporters) is not a singing section. It just becomes a section again. Like i've said, if you don't fancy singing, why would you want to sit in a singing section anyway? It just suits everyone to do this.
And the real point we should be looking at is if the entire stadium was constantly rocking and everyone joined in, there would be no need for a special singing section!

Boring!! Everyone was split up yesterday due to the 2 end blocks having tickets for charity day... We won 3-0 so people don't have anything to moan about so lets take a pop at the main singing section at roots hall... We sung at times and the players heard us.. Ask Clarke, scannell and macca, who all clapped us when we sung there name after they scored... Didn't see them clap any other part of the ground...
anyway next game, friday night... Be good to see the east and south all clapping, we can hear u if u all join in.
UP THE BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!

Lee, when i turned up the lot i sit with and travel with where all together so am not sure how we was split up due to the club giving tickets out to people to sit in a block the other side of the wall the sdame block none of us sit in, it came down to the fact it wasnt a very exciting game even tho we won 3 nil and played well

We've had fantastic results with TBV.

and we have had fantastic resualts before the "TBV"

I also did notice that Lee smith wasnt there, as there wasnt any loud drum be played, and he had said on his facebook status that he was away for the weekend. Like it or not, even though he didnt imply this, it defintely was an accompanying factor to less noise be made by the blue voice. Just because of his absence though, it didnt mean the rest of the BV couldnt get things going, so to blame it on the new fans sitting their for the first time is wrong.

thats true Lee wasnt there sat but the same people who get it going where, and they sing with a blue voice or not makes no difference to them or me home or away we try our best but sometimes it isnt any good with only 10 of us singing

Macca was right about Brighton away, i didnt really feel in the mood to sing, the Withdean is a depressing place, even when you are 1-0 up, but the group of lads behind the goal, made a real effort, despite the stewards consistently telling them to sit down, and this spread and encouraged me and others near meto join in.

that was us who sat behind the goal and tried our best to get it going,

I agree with this to some extent. It was the first 'end of season feel' game we have had, partly due to the weather I guess. It is also easy to forget in the aftermath of the victory that between the first goal and half-time there were long passages of play where nothing really happened. By contrast, the second half was so comprehensively easy against a team who put up little fight that again it could be said this particular match wasn't the best to easily stir up an atmosphere.

Surely it is best to concentrate on when TBV does have an effect and as was said earlier, I thought those who were at Brighton made at an amazing effort to get behind the team.

This is, of course, is complete nonsense.

To suggest that just because we're not in this self styled 'special' group of supporters we are all fair weather followers, sitting quietly on our hands throughout the game is just stupid.

Sing and make as much noise as you like, but don't you dare tell me how to support my team.

i think we should let them have a ''special'' singing section.

so if TBV are not trying to create an atomosphere all round the stadium and just in a little bit. am i the only one that realises this is just a couple of guys making ''lots'' ;) of noise and sitting together, which is pretty much the most textbook thing at any football club in the world.

Yawn.

You have made your point.

Cant be arsed to explain things anymore.

Moan when stuff is handed out at games
Moan when stuff isnt handed out at games
Moan when there is singing and drumming
Moan when there isnt singing and drumming

Got to love the good old British public! Nothing is ever right.....and by god people love a moan.

Seriously wtf are you talking about?

it means you didn't have a comeback, so you you went for the yawn, i'm above this debate approach.
and the reason you didn't have a comeback is you didn't have a leg to stand on.
and you didn't have a leg to stand on cause you were mocked harsh yet fairly.

what's wrong with you? realised Portsmouth Uni is a crock of ****?

and bobby didn't you leave?!? not 100% sure as to why, but i get the impression cause you couldn't handle the banter, and some guys were terrorising you (which is knobbish).
but if you can't handle banter, why bring up the play up?
