I dont think he is talking crap, although I dont think anyone else is either.
What i dont agree with though, is the implication that if people dont sing, then they arent supporting Southend, and should go and sit someone else.
The people who didnt like the noise from the blue voice in the west have gradually gone and sat elsewhere anyway, on Saturday, it was a charity day, so in the West there were a lot of fans turning up for maybe the first time( I knew this straight away when someone asked me who the two players were upfront for us) ,and didnt know this was a singing section, and were not singing. Why should they be told to sit somewhere else. As we won 3-0 and played ok, hopefully this will encourage them to come again, which is what we want. What we dont want is people telling them their support isnt wanted just because they dont join in with the singing. More people coming through the turnstiles is a good thing.
I also did notice that Lee smith wasnt there, as there wasnt any loud drum be played, and he had said on his facebook status that he was away for the weekend. Like it or not, even though he didnt imply this, it defintely was an accompanying factor to less noise be made by the blue voice. Just because of his absence though, it didnt mean the rest of the BV couldnt get things going, so to blame it on the new fans sitting their for the first time is wrong.
Macca was right about Brighton away, i didnt really feel in the mood to sing, the Withdean is a depressing place, even when you are 1-0 up, but the group of lads behind the goal, made a real effort, despite the stewards consistently telling them to sit down, and this spread and encouraged me and others near meto join in.
I, sometimes, dont feel in the mood to sing, but this dosent mean i dont support the lads, but the people who dont join in on a regular basis, are much better to have around than those who constantly barrack and abuse the players
