Swann dangles the bat and goes on the last ball of the day!

307-8

Come on England.........take your from inspiration from Captain James Cook.

This day 239 years ago he formerly claimed Eastern Australia for Great Britain.

Maybe 350ish might be defendable, with the track doing something, and a little cloud cover assisting, lets be positive people.

to be honest the only way i can see us win this game is if we're back out with the bat before the end of play today

Jimmy finishes 4th (with 54) in the "Most innings before a duck" leaderboard. He sits behind AB de Villiers off SA (78), Aravinda de Silva of SL (75) and Clive Lloyd of WI (58)!

Another fact, Steve Harmison averages over 100 with the bat at the Oval!

Indeed forgot that stat popped up! You can tell he likes this pitch after the start he's made. We are up to 330 odd!!

Kev

Being there yesterday, it was obvious that it isn't a trditional Oval pitch - I honestly think we needed a low-scoring match if we want to win this game. 330 isn't too far below par on it at all. If we put the ball in the right areas today, we'll take wickets, and Swann is goin to be the most important player in the rest of this game.
