The Ashes Thread

Who will win The Ashes?

  • Total voters
    33
  • Poll closed .
Going to be pretty quiet round here, our competitors Brit have unsurprisingly invited most of the market along to the Oval. The main Underwriter over there is going every day, free of charge!

Onions out..... First mistake of the match?

Would of left out Harmison personally, then again I'm frequently wrong so he'll take 5-11 now.

not quite Ashes related but there are tickets available for the ODI on 4th Sept at the Oval (England v Aus). Not cheap at £75.

Bookable through the surreycricket.com website or on the phone I guess.

Just thought I would mention as I thought these were all sold out.

Decent enough start.

Cookie again not doing his talent justice.

It's not Onions' type of surface. We're going to need a Harmy performance like he had against South Africa (2003 was it?) which effectively launched his test career if we are going to win. I can't see Onions, Swann or Anderson as match-winners here. Harmy is a long-shot, but it is better than no shot.

Bell looked a complete rabbit early on. He was absolutely clueless against the shorter pitched stuff and had to be protected from Mitchell Johnson.Oh **** Strauss is out.

180-3 at tea, finely balanced. We need Bell to get his first ton against the convicts, fair play to him he's done well after most people questioned the wisdom of keeping him in the side.

Poor from Freddy.

247-6

We'll do well to get 350 now..

Freddie now gone as well

247-6

I can't take any more of this today. The way we're going I'd be surprised if we're still batting by mid morning tomorrow.

I think if we cant get to at least 400 odd when the convicts come in they will just sit there forever batting and wanting a draw.

Trott now trotting off.

Oh dear.

268-7.

There goes the Ashes, unless Swann can do some damage tomorrow...
