Superb spell of play ... made it even more special doing it under the circumstances! Sends a shiver down the spine!

I just love it when we beat the convicts. If that was his last test match as has been suggested then Freddie has gone out on a massive high. Bowled unchanged from start to finish this morning.

Top effort by Michael Clarke & Haddin to cast a few doubts in English minds. Ponting will now be remembered as not only losing an Ashes series in 2005, but also as the first convict captain to taste defeat at Lords in 75 years.

A word of caution, we've not won the Ashes back yet, so England will need to maintain this form over the three remaining tests.

Phew ... my colleagues must think i'm mental as i've been shouting at cricinfo all morning .. finally much joyous shouting as we got the final wicket

Today is the start of me being on a 4 day week, though i've actually more work on this week than usual and i've kicked off by doing absolutely **** all for 2 hours .. best go do something i suppose

Very good performance following the Welsh embarrassment. Sets the series up nicely, one that I though was going to be fairly close with two competitive, if not great, sides.
Do I take my criticisms back, concerning our First innings performance...........not at all! I did, however, agree entirely with KP at the time, not to enforce the follow-on.............. certainly turned out to be a good decision. I wonder whether he would have taken the same course if we had got wickets more quickly Saturday morning and ended up with a first innings lead of 250?
