Making a pipe bomb takes more effort and know how than picking up your gun and pulling the trigger.

The fact there are more high school massacres with guns than pipe bombs shows exactly which is easier to carry out. Of course you ban guns and people could use pipe bombs, but the availability and opportunity is less.

And it doesn't happen in countries where access to guns is much tougher - here & Australia for example.

Its only the 1% that are dangerous. Sky are currently showing a documentary on Dale Cregan. He was the one in Manchester who killed 2 WPC's with a gun and hand grenades. Whilst out on bail for shooting dead a man in a pub.

A ban won't stop the Cregans of the world but will stop a lot of young internet loners from going on a rampage.

Well the point is that in general it's pretty difficult and expensive for an 'average joe' to get a gun in the UK. In the US it's easy and relatively cheap to get one both legally and illegally.
