Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Let’s be realistic, we are 3 points off the play offs and have won 4 out of the last 5 in the league. Maher does not ‘need’ to go because we get knocked out of the ****ing FA Trophy.

Just take a look at the teams still left in it (or not in it, more to the point) to see how important this competition really is.

The result and performance were not good enough, everyone knows that. But if the reaction to that is we go and win the next few games in the league and find ourselves in the play offs, nobody is going to care that we are no longer in the FA Trophy. So let’s save the judgement until after the next few games in the league.

Failing to be able to pick a team, motivate the players to get a win over a team two/three leagues below us is something Maher should absolutely be questioned for.

Clearly something needs to change. Either a complete overhaul of the squad or ....... I suspect we'll go into the summer with a few new faces, but I'm not convinced anything on the pitch will change.

Failing to be able to pick a team
Kind to share this after the result, looks all the wiser.

Would any available combination of players have done better? Who knows.

For all the sub-par performances we've seen from Miley, Bridge and Husin this season, Husin being ill has to be the one big pre-game regret we all would have had in our line ups.

We have good players in the squard.

We head hunted them because they were one of the best in their team, they shone playing in their team.

But then we take them on, and they are made to play a different style of football, a style that they are not used to.

They play the Mayer way, which is alien to them, and thus just become another avarage player.

I was up in the south upper today, and we really did not look liked scoring.
Even when we had the ball, and could of had a decent strike on goal, we just passed it to someone else, like it was a hot potato.

Now I am a Mayer fan, and just want the best for him, but I honestly don’t think we will ever get promoted playing the Mayer way.

I would really love it if we could, but I don’t think we can.

Sorry Mayer.

The worrying thing is, a lot of these today were Kev’s signings, new faces who were meant to improve the squad. If they aren’t even playing for Maher at times or following his instructions then it doesn’t look good. I’ve said all season these players aren’t as poor as they look and when you see effort put in like today you do wonder what the **** is going on.

I sure you mean Maher and not mayer

Great bloke and a club legend but doesnt have the management skills for this job

My opinion really soured on Kev as a manager when he started to get irate with supporters during games who had a different opinion to him.

Kev is a club legend but we need a new approach
He used to do this as a player too, certainly in later years. I was guilty once of shouting ‘try to beat the first man this time’ to Kev after a succession of bad corners, I believe it was Swansea at home in the 05/06 promotion season. He turned round and shouted to F off. He then did beat the first man and we scored, I’m still claiming that assist, though I think we lost 2-1 in the end.

He does seem to be overly sensitive to any criticism during matches though, if he’s getting triggered by fans shouting ‘forwards’ that’s his problem. Football fans are impatient in general, that’s natural and something every manager should expect and not react to.
