Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

I found out this week that Ollie Pearce is on £1.2k/week. A wage so low that Worthing offered to match York's offer.

The quality is there for us to afford. Getting quality players in the right positions in early will be key.
Could his agent have negotiated X £ per goal bonus , does this still happen along with win or promotion bonuses? Either way OP has been an excellent signing for York I wonder if he's being watched by clubs higher up.

Not speculation at all - we are one of the form teams in the league. Over the last 10-12 games, we’re on title chasing form (table for proof as you’d no doubt try and say I’m wrong).

If we carry that form to the end of the season, we will most likely make the play offs.

My point was purely saying that just to catch up Halifax, we don’t need to work to overturn goal difference, it would just happen with the 2 win defect required. That’s just simple maths
if all teams maintained that form then we would only close the gap on Halifax by 1 point and Gateshead and Rochdale by 5 points Altrincham would move another point further in front of us also ,so very unlikely we would make the playoffs

My favourite teacher there was Mr Higgins ,the worst teacher there was a sour old cow by the nameof Mrs Seagust.
Dad was there in the 1960's and 70's. He taught at Prince Avenue and Chalkwell too. I have loads of his old class photos but not sure how to show them to all those old pupils who may be interested.

I've just been reading some fan comments on Stuart Kettlewell who quit as Motherwell boss due to fan abuse a few weeks ago.

"...at its core, this is an embarrassing outcome - a wonderful manager, hounded out of the club, by clueless fans..."

"I am embarrassed that he, who saved us... has been hounded out."

"We need to stop phone-in experts chiming in. Either you support the club or not."

"I'd say Well fans need to be careful what they wish for."

Interesting.

Supporting the club is not necessarily a synonym for unequivocal support of the current manager.

Kev makes it easy to divide opinions about his management because he does some strange things. Take the DW dilemma, if our strikers were banging in the goals you could see the reluctance to start him or bring him on, what's he going to do score an own goal or something. These things don't make sense.
Tuesday night i noticed something that I can't get my head around. MB pushed a ball passed a Woking player, and he took off after it, the ball went out of play, yet our fans clapped him... have we sunk that low, that we applaud a forward move with no positive outcome, what next cheering us getting a throw in.
We have to expect better, as our players are paid a fair wage to play football. Things have got to get better. Just my opinion.

I think the applause was appreciation for his attempt coupled to encouragement to do more of the same with a better outcome.
I saw it as a spirited try. And there's the key: 'spirit'.

With that, we will be clapping every forward kick? If fans want to do that fine, but surely applaud a great tackle, or close shot not a knock on for a opposition throw in.
Just an observation on what gets appreciation from our fans.

Maybe it’s the fact it’s Macauley and W block are urging him on to keep plugging away. There were a few songs for him Tuesday night. I’d personally love him to score tomorrow, the roof would come off the West stand. He’s a trier, even if he isn’t banging them in and he’s becoming kind of a cult hero.

Supporting the club is not necessarily a synonym for unequivocal support of the current manager.
Supporting the club is equally not about hammering a guy week-in week-out regardless of result, level of performance, current form, getting in the play-offs last season, paying for things out of his own pocket last season (and not to mention captaining the team to two promotions etc etc.)

You may not clap that sort of thing, and maybe I wouldn't, but freedom of choice is pretty fundamental in this, no?
