Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Should Maher go?

you've forgotten Maidenhead away (which was after the Daggers game i believe) which can't have been much fun for any Blues supporters there,Were you? While we can normally beat sides below us in the table we certainly didn't at M .and I don't think we will at tamworth either. As the man said Football is a results biz. and personally I don't see us making the play offs this season.
I haven't forgotten Maidenhead away and I don't need to be questioned on what matches I have attended especially when many who comment on here admit to watching on TV.
However, I have seen enough football (my first match at RH was in 1968 and I have been a regular ever since) to know that no team is fantastic every week and if you genuinely support Sufc you enjoy the good days. Back on topic, COSU have my support in taking a long term view and rewarding KM and the coaches for their loyalty and success (last season Manager of the Year lets not forget). It might be a results business but in any business you can expect some bumps along the road. Also, several regular posters seem to be saying their issue is the 'boring/defensive/crab' methods the manager employs. Interesting to watch the comments of the Halifax manager about our team and manager. Note his reference to 'strange murmurings'.....
If you actually attend matches, the criticism of team and coaches is far less than on SZ and social media for some reason.

There is an unpleasant and divisive undertone creeping into some posts implying that watching on TV is somehow less prestigious and worthy than actuaĺly attending matches. Palpable nonsense of course when many supporters are living abroad and can only watch on DAZN. Most of these supporters have seen many more marches at Roots Hall than some of the Johnny Come Latelys who only go back a few years. When you have lived through the Ted Fenton, Ernie Shepherd, Arthur Rowley, Dave Smith eras etc you might have a different perspective on the awful standard of football on display now and want to see change urgently.

There will always br apologists and excuse makers for the present regime, largely based on sentiment.

The irony here is astonishing.

I get that you're impatient for success. We all are, in our own way. But we're a place and 5 points outside the playoffs with 41 points left to play for, and the football has been more front foot and entertaining since after the Maidenhead loss. There's just no reason for any changes to be made as things stand.

1968 for me so hopefully I'm not Johnny !
Of course there are plenty of good reasons why people can't attend. Nevertheless there is a disproportionate amount of criticism on here compared to the atmosphere at matches. In my opinion.

There will always br apologists and excuse makers for the present regime, largely based on sentiment. The evidence continues to mount up that the best we can ever hope for is mid table with a tantalising glimpse of a just out of reach play off place season after season. If COSU are content with that then they cannot complain if support starts to melt away and all the PR stunts in the world like the FAB won't make any difference. Year after year in this dreadful league is not a prospect that will bring 'sustainability'.
What evidence is that? Last season we would have finished in the play offs without the points deduction, which isn’t an excuse or in any way Maher’s fault.

This season, whilst the play offs are still looking like a bit of a stretch, our chances of making them have pretty much been increasing every week over the last month or so. So how exactly is the evidence mounting up to the contrary?

I don't think anyone seriously thinks we are going to clinch a play off place still less actually get promoted unless they live in a fantasy world.

That's your opinion, and you MIGHT be right. But you don't know that. The only hard FACT is that we're 5 points behind them with 41 points left to play for, and that they are very much within reach.

@Medway Blue I agree 100% with your sentiments. I have to point out, though, 41 is a prime number, and unless for one game we’re going back to the old system of two points for a win, 42 points are available.

Obviously because of where I live I have no other option than to watch us than on tv.It so happens that my first match at RH was back in the early 60's.I've pointed out before on SZ that my parents, both long term supporters, gave up watching us in 65/6 because they didn't want to watch div 4 football.Unlike them Iwas quite happy to see those Friday night games under the lights.I didn't realise then that I was signing up to watch NL football.Unlike you (it would seem) I have no confidence in KM's ability to restore EFL football to SU,either this season or next.

The hypocrisy in this post is absolutely top drawer 🤣
