Positive spin to counteract the hugely negative spin? If things go t*ts up next week, then I'm quite sure we'll discover the truth. I just think it's hugely ironic that this "bid" coincided with his loss of form - and if it WAS contrived, then I wonder if he was uncomfortable being used in such a way - don't know, just a distinct possibility in my eyes.

The bid was made on deadline day, he has been out of form since about February after the Scunthorpe game...

Yes, it would make sense, but I just don't buy it.

If next Wednesday really is the end of the line, then I guess a lot of people within the club will be free to speak more freely - though I suspect even then there will be differing versions and we'll all choose to believe those versions that suits each of us.
Would be interested to know though, how many of the people who 'know' we're doomed next Wednesday are making the trip up to Carlisle for what they 'know' is the last game.

Brazil say he had spoken to someone linked very closely with the club and it is not looking good for us unless we can find the money owed to the revenue.

Thats very true, and rather obvious. IF we don't find the money we're in trouble, but conversely IF we do find the money, then we're not.

The question is whether or not we'll find the money, and this appears to be something that Mr Brazil isn't giving us any information on one way or t'other.

Just another thought on this Kay - I still don't get the positive story to balance negative story angle as one was on the OS minutes after the other.
As i mentioned earlier Revell was by no means a fans favourite before he left so I don't think the club would have expected people to be so upset about him leaving. It was the GK's statement that wound people up and I just can't see that the club would have had time to realise the exent to which it would in the, literally, 5 minutes between the 2 stories going on the OS

Well, I don't "know" anything but am making the trip aware that it could be the last one, although that's not my reason for going. And as for Revs, well, he was a massive favourite with the blog, and I believe he went simply because of the high wage he was on.

And that's harsh, he had a good end to last season.

I loved Ronnie Irani as a whole hearted cricketer, but as an author and broadcaster he is what Cyril Smith is to hang gliding.

Agree with you there Harry, he really does come out with some tripe.

Is it talksports policy to hire someone to annoy the hell out of you first thing in the morning, previous to Irani we had Graham Beecroft who used to sit on the fence something cronic.

As others have pointed out, the most likely explanation is that Brazil heard for the first time this week something everyone on here has known about since July. Different medium, same old **** unfortunately.

Would Macca or his agent reject any such bid?..The club appear skint and 200k would appease the taxman for now?..Macca would of earnt around 20k and a decent signing on fee and possibly better wages and playing in a decent stadium for a team who have a genuine chance of a play off spot..Would Macca really say no?

Maybe Steve Tilson rejected the bid? Maybe he said that would be the final straw for him? None of us know and its all history now anyway
ps Glad to hear you do like those shiny new 22k stadiums after all!

I have it on good authority that Millwall did actually lodge a bid... Whether it was for the £200k that the club mentioned I don't know. Millwall were very interested in McCormack indeed at one point... Definitely a "Millwall" player by some of their own admission.

Clever but not clever enough..I stated i prefer 4 sided stadiums and Millwall have a 4 sided stadium.

Yes he blogs where popular, and his workrate was terrific but he was a basic footballer and if the Club has dreams of playing Championship football again then players like Revell aren't going to take us there. He went because he didn't produce the goods. You can dress it up anyway you like, but he didn't deliver in terms of goals or assists.

Not convinced by that statement. As a team we did terrific in the 2nd half of the season with the introduction of Dervite and Robinson. I'd put the likes of Granty, Mildenhall, Dervite, Robinson, Barnard and Mildenhall, just to name a few, of players that performed better than Macca at the end of last season.

If it is true, that we cant pay this bill, and there is a threat of going under, why would we simply let this happen, and keep it under wraps. Accrington have had the same problem as us, albeit a smaller amount, yet they have made their situation public, and have arranged two friendlies against larger local opposition (Burnley and Blackburn I think), to help them survive. What ever people may think of the current ownership team, surely they would have the intelligence to do something similar, if we were under threat of being wound up.

Agreed. If Ron Martin knew that we couldn't pay this then he would have done something about it instead of just doing nothing and hoping that somehow we will get some money in from somewhere.

Think we will get more time to pay, getting as many points as we can muster in the meantime. If we still cant pay the bill, ten points deduction, then an end of season nailpiter to get around 54 pionts to stay up. Or we pay the bill and go up.

Actually, I don't believe there was ever a bid either as it goes. Not got anything to base my belief on as such, just comments picked up from various people who were much more likely to be in a position to know the truth.

There was definitely a bid, although Ron may have embellished the truth slightly, in that the amount offered and the amount we wanted may be somewhat 'cloudy'.

If there wasn't a bid, Ron would have said 'An unamed league One club', in order to avoid any backlash / denials from Millwall.

One thing we surely all agree on is that Ron is not stupid!

Not stupid ?

He invested in a football club. That's stupid unless you are a multi millionaire with millions as loose cash
