I feel Lomas will be the one to make way
On Monday, lomas stepped across near post to defend a cross. He made it look so easy. It’s the first time I’ve seen him, but that was what lopata did and What showed him as so good. It’s a difficult decision for kev, but the right kind of difficult decision

Don’t think Lomas would make way. Last season when at Brackley they conceded a low amount of goals and kept a high number of clean sheets. Take away the 2 free kicks Eastleigh scored which had nothing to do with the back line and Lomas hasn’t conceded a goal whilst playing for Southend ever since he came on at Solihull. I know it’s a team effort to defend but big coincidence

I genuinely thought that this was one deal we wouldn’t be able to get done purely because I believe the lad has the current ability to apply his trade in at least league two, possibly even league one. That said, I am absolutely delighted with brining the lad back and on a permanent deal as well.. massive f’ing well done to all involved.

Really I’d say lomas has been the best one!!
I think it's a really hard call. Hobson has been our most consistent and improved player this season so far. Kensdale has really improved playing in the center of the three and Lomas hasn't looked out of place since coming in.

I just think you say to the current back 3, go and do what you've been doing. They will know that if they don't do what they have been doing, Lopata comes in. Like any player, Lopata has to wait his chance and earn his place back. It's not like when he came in before and we desperately needed him to go into the team. Exciting times ahead.

@BoyWonder2 ….. fancy putting this one to sleep?

I obviously had to keep this one very quiet for obvious reasons.

As we all know, we’ve been in contact with Sheffield United/Lopata every since he left us, and it ramped up during the summer.

I heard two/three days ago that it was a real possibility on happening, but didn’t want to say anything incase Sheffield United changed their mind again.

Lopata has only wanted to be back at Roots Hall. He loves the Club, he loves the players, he loves the fans and we all love him.

It’ll be announced at some stage today. The Polish rumour was a load of old nonsense.

Lopata is coming home on a permanent deal 🤝

As someone who didn’t believe even getting the lad back here on loan was possible, to get him on a permanent deal is simply outstanding business by the club. For me, this is the biggest signing we’ve made in a long while, the lad I think is genuinely good enough to be a starter for most league one clubs.

Remember all the doom and gloom after missing out on Mussa, well look how positive it is now! This is amazing. This season, I've already been looking forward to going to games, a feeling long lost for a number of years, this has just magnified it tenfold!

We as fans are obviously all jubilant, just think what this signing will do for those players. I know someone might say the back 3 won't be happy, I disagree. Healthy competition is great for any player. They will and should believe in their own ability anyway. Hobson was class with Lopata next to him in our unbeaten run.

I can't wait for tomorrow!
