Bit hard to put him wide in a 3 when you playing 532.

Tbf I’d like us to go back to 343 but we’d be leaving out 2 very good cm in that formation (if we do indeed sign Mussa) and even then it would mean Taylor at the back probably and 2 of Cav, Mussa and Husin in mf.

Got lots of options this year.

Fwiw I wouldn’t play Mooney or Powell through the middle in a 2. Don’t think it worked at all with Powell there at times in the run in. Seems whichever formation we go with, we’ll be sacrificing someone somewhere.

I personally think we will revert to the 343 we used until we switched to 352. Thats what i hope anyway as i felt we always looked threatening then and also secure at the back.

We had a great record with 3-4-3 but I never felt Maher really trusted it. He wasn’t just quick to drop it at the first sign of a wobble but also with his subs during that run we’d often drop back to 3-5-2.

Doesn’t make him a bad player. Probably says as much about his team mates. I can remember Mike Marsh playing for us, technically one of the best players I’ve seen in a Southend shirt but he was in a **** team of players that weren’t at his level. Mussa trained at Spurs in January so can’t be that bad. Only heard good things about him and appears we have beaten off other clubs to get him, if true. Look at who we’ve signed so far, trust the process
