The only thing that could make this transfer window better is if a 6ft 4 Uzbekistani who speaks no English and has only ever played in the Mongolian Premier league joins us on trial. Used to love it when one of those guys rocked up pre-season.

If it is Mussa, could indicate Taylor will be used at the back.

Mussa would be a cracking signing going by what’s been said about him online. Seems a real prospect. With Mooney having joined, if Mussa joins too, it will be a real statement of intent that these lads are choosing us when they weren’t likely to be short of good options this summer.

That would give us good balance if we’re going to be playing 3-4-3 with two CM’s. Miley/Taylor as the more defensive two and Husin/Mussa(?) as the more offensive two.

If it’s a loan move, nobody would be offering him any wages.. on top of the one he earns from his parent club though?

2020-21 and obviously a highlights reel….but gives a flavour should he be our target of course. Looks like he’s not afraid of dropping deep and to get attacks going quickly. Great feet, always wanting the ball, unpredictable and a royal pain in the arse. Oh and only 21 with probably a great resale value in the future, should he fulfil his potential. That will do me. Hopefully he’s one on the radar and we can get him over the line.

And obviously the class assist for the goal against us at RH…

This goes back to my point that we are about 11 players lighter on the payroll as from today.

As Yorkshire Blue has pointed out we (Southend United - not me) are replacing players that didn't feature on the pitch with a range of players that should all be competing for places.

And that should allow a different range of formations on the pitch to be pursued.

Have we got enough experience in the squad to balance all this "potential" that needs to be nourished?

The 4 "midfielders" there would include 2 wingbacks, so Morriss and Ralph/Bridge you'd assume. So would only be 2 central spaces for Taylor/Miley/Husin/Mussa, doubt we'll leave two out.

More likely to continue 3-5-2 as we did toward end of season to accomodate a CAM, either Hussin or Bridge i guess.
