Kevin, you're not wrong. I was a regular in the north bank for years and it can/could be a cauldron. Now, though, it's populated by people who feel deserving of congratulation for playground chants conjured up in the boozer. They're embarrassing at away matches and they now feel empowered enough to abuse our own players at home. I wouldn't be seen dead hanging out with them at away grounds and they're now making attendance in the north bank the mark of a numpty.

Jesus Christ, it's a couple of songs sung at a football match if this bothers you so much you really need to get out more

So you've come on here, not only a football site but one concerned exclusively with Southend United issues, to criticise someone for commenting on one of those issues...and you tell ME to get out more. Oh dear.

Considering the dross we have all had to endure this season at home ( North , South , East and West ) I think TBV have for the most part done an excellent job in trying to create something like an atmosphere.
Was the Starker bashing yesterday a bit harsh - yes probably - but on the whole this season they have done really well IMO.
Keep it going next season.

Scott, try coming up with positives regarding TBV rather than "tit for tat" comments.

Come on Ken roots hall without the north is a library closing it is a backwards step

What we need is to swap sides with away fans moved into the corner with decent segregation

I would rather have it 18 plus too but that is not fair to younger fans who behave.

Now on SZ I get stick for how kids behave I get told I am an embarrassment I get dog **** abuse for it

If anybody thinks they can help then get out from behind your keyboards and get stuck in

I am just one man!!!

I was referring to the thread in general to be honest.

The Blue Voice, formed by Smiffy and fully backed by Cricko, myself and other owners of the Zone at the time, was to be the club's 12th man -- to try and create an atmosphere in the, at the time, morgue-like Roots Hall.

The Zone assisted with drum-sticks and drum repairs and even created a separate forum for TBV to gain suggestions and comments.

It appears as the years have gone by, even with the co-operation of the club to allow access to the previously unused (in the main) North Bank, that there is less encouragement and more goading of away fans and detrimental chanting towards some of our own players. This is not why TBV was set up.

The volume levels are much louder in the North but that doesn't help when the rest of the ground can hear anti-Ron, anti-Smith and now it appears anti-Straker noises. It does nothing to enhance the reputation of TBV and the people supporting TBV must come up with ideas to revert it back to it's original objectives.

I might be missing something here, I'm not quite sure when singing a players name became known as slating them. I started the chant yesterday and there was no in

do you not think though tha every other fan is anti martin and lets face the general consensus on smith is clear and corresponds to what tbv may chant (even though the chants are few and far between). Also anti straker chants are your take on it and your opinion, to say that it was all anti straker is unfair as i for one sang it in a positive yet fun kind of way, forgive me if im wrong but i think a football ground/game should be fun.

Lets get this right there are possibly around 200 who think its funny to swear and scream abuse at anything which moves,You guys can be far more inventive by cheering on our players and hope from your vocal support their performances will improve.Yes this season has been poor yet I fail too see how abusing players will enhance their play.

As I understand it you are one of the leaders....Please lead your troops in a decent fashion.
