I’m by no means an ITK but I have heard a couple of bits indirectly from someone involved in the deal.

All I will say is that if true we are in for some very exciting times.

EDIT: I’m happy to message a mod with the multiple bits I’ve heard. If each part pans out then there’s reason to believe the juiciest part is also true which really would mean party time for us all!
You tease you

I’m happy to act as a mod for a few minutes :). I already have the jam playing and I’m watching quadrophonia

Like everyone else I’m refreshing SZ multiple times a day (ok, multiple times an hour!) to glean anything I can about the takeover.

It seems that a price was agreed last week from social media posts, however now the real work starts before contracts are signed and we have official announcements etc.

We all know that Ron has a complex web of companies and, depending how much of his empire they’re buying, this is potentially going to take time to go through properly with accountants and lawyers pouring over every minute detail in multiple companies.

If the potential buyer is Kimura (as I think we all suspect strongly!), then I believe they are regulated by the FCA so they’ll have to do this by the book and leave no stone unturned.

The fact that we may miss out on signing Andrew Dallas or Jack Bridge may get fed up with waiting to sign a new contract is irrelevant to the FCA. There will be rules to follow and things will have to be done by the book.

We are all going to have to be patient and let the accountants and lawyers do their bits now.

I’m not expecting anything final to be announced this week, I’m afraid, although I hope I’m proved wrong.

However, that’s not bad news, that’s good news as it means our potential new owners are professional and diligent and that’s pretty much what we’ve all been crying out for!

Keep the faith and be patient fellow shrimpers - good times could be just around the corner!

In their day jobs. They can’t let this stop them being fit and proper individuals for their existing roles. We’re not going to be regulated by the FCA.
There are a few Kimura entities all part of the same group. I very much doubt the asset management company has the permissions to buy a football club with their clients money. However when you have a look at Kimura performance they seem to have a lot of scope there. They are invested in football agencies, digital media companies, PR and esports... That looks more likely to me

There are so many tales of wannabe football club owners who’ve grabbed control only to very quickly be exposed as way out of their depth. It always ends badly for both the club and themselves. Why on Earth would these Kimura guys want that on their plate if they didn’t have the means to see it through. They’re local guys, they’ve seen the vitriol that’s come down on RM for his mismanagement. Unless they’re very stupid, which all the evidence would suggest they’re not, I just can’t believe they would jump into this without a serious plan and the finances to see it through. So I’m going to trust them and hopefully enjoy the ride!

Good things happen to those who wait.

I share your sentiments. But do I hope the new consortium that takes over the club will recognise the outstanding contribution that Tom Lawrence, Stan Collymore and the management team of Kevin Maher, Darren Currie and Mark Bentley have made at the club during the last year and a half.

Thankfully we’re not! However I assume the purchase will be funded from investors’ money, sourced through a Kimura entity which is regulated and that’s presumably where the FCA come in.

Had a quick chat with an ITK over the weekend.

Sounds like everything has been agreed now, we just have to patiently sit tight for a couple of weeks for everything to be ratified.
