Sturrock - complete idiot ?

Widdrington I like.
If PS says "sorry, I can't do it anymore it's all too much with current circumstances" and handed the reigns over to TW then I would be very happy.

This isn't purely a "anyone who's not ST" issue either, there are managers of our level who we reasonably could attract who (bad reputation now resolved) I would be happy to see in the RH hot-seat.

Mr Boreham, please justify how the above is "unbelievable"?
Again it is MY opinion and you are welcome to debate it, but surely that isn't exactly one of my recent "light the blue touchpaper comments"...

Guys, at the end of the day it's all down to opinions and how vehemently we express them and what tone we use. People's opinions come over in completely different ways to what's intended at times and whilst I think there are certainly people around who are suddenly adopting a holier than thou stance on the subject of Tilson and who should examine their consciences, Glasgow has every right to voice his opinion however much I, and others, might disagree with it.

I get completely fed up with these threads that turn into witch hunts for individuals on here or for players, we all ultimately want what is best for the team and therefore the club, let's just try counting to 10 before we hit the "post" button sometimes. :chill:

I can't see any abusive posts, only debate. Every is entitled to their opinions and everyone is entitled to debate those opinions as long as it doesn't descend into abuse.

No, not to do that.
I want that to happen so my major reserrvations about July's events are proved correct.
No wish to gloat, you're getting 2+2=5 from previous posts.

But you specifically said that is the case and referred me to that particular point later on as well......you said ' Sorry, but from a selfish personal perspective I'd be happy for our slump to snowball, if only to be able to prove how I right I was expressing such strong concerns throughout the summer'

I'm not sure there is much room for alternative interpretation other than a) you want us to lose (="I'd be happy for our slump to snowball") b) So that you can then say 'I told you so' (="If only to prove how right I was....").

In fairness to pboreham, (and I found his posts on Tilson to be unfair and ridiculous and took pleasure in reminding him of his 'anti-Tilson' stance when we went on that run after xmas to just miss out on the play-offs)....but he always gave his view analytically and evenhanded and without any motive of self interest.

Thanks, i was quite happy to take that criticism too and be proved wrong on occasions.

Overall, I liked Tilson and I am extremely grateful for the good times we had and yes, on occasions my personal feelings towards some of his managerial techniques clouded the bigger picture. But at the end of the day, I cannot be hypocritical - I did post about wanting his removal a few times but as you say, I always tried to back that up - and at the times I asked for a 'more experienced manager, with contacts and who could try different things tactically', so I've got pretty much exactly who I would have wanted.

Time will tell how PS does, but the key thing is TIME.

Yeah but it doesn't once infer I'm going to be all over here jumping up and down saying "I told you all so, hahahaha" at every opportunity does it.

It wasnt just that post, but a culmination - I couldnt decide which to choose :)

That post struck me though that you were saying you wanted 'anyone that isnt Paul Sturrock' which I do find 'unbelievable' and you still havent offered any alternatives besides Paul Mariner which is a bit weird...

Ronald doesn't for #1...

Hang on, he could have appointed ANYONE on the cheap - I think most of us feared the job was nailed on for Ricky Duncan as that could be seen as the 'cheap' and easy option.

By appointing Sturrock and Widdrington, that would have cost. Then to give them pretty much free reign to bring in anyone they wanted (and a squad of 22), doesnt strike me as someone looking to **** on the club.

Ron has done so much wrong, but at least give him some breaks when due.

Becuase I never like being wrong, a personality trait of mine, nothing to do with SUFC...

So you hear something downstairs and think it might be a burglar. And when it isn't you're disappointed?

Seems like a crazy attitude to have to life.

Seems like you will take some satisfaction from it though, which I do not understand at all Rich.

You know what I'm normally like at games, you know the passion I've got (well had) for SUFC.
You saw for yourself at the Stockport game this is certainly not the case as things stand.
Thank you so much Ron Martin et al...

I think it does infer exactly that (though it is open to interpretation and others may disagree), but what is not inferred and is explicit is you would be happy to lose if only so you can be proven right. The alternative that we win and you are proven wrong does not seem as attractive a propostion for some reason, which betrays self interest, hence the inference.

Welcome to my world ;)
Strange analogy but I wouldn't say disappointed - I'd say frustrated as to why my anti-theft system hasn't put them off :p

If we win & as people keep liking to point out we do a Plymouth & win L2 with 100+ points then I'd may reconsider and end up happy being proved wrong. I can't honestly see it though...
