Sturrock - complete idiot ?

Im with Kent Shrimper on this... really goes to show that what RM has done has not improved anything... I fully understand that building a new team will take some time but by then will it be too late? I have STRONG evidence from a good source that this whole mess will be resolved shortly and our most sucessfull management team will be compensated.

With all due respect, just what the hell is that supposed to mean? That T&B will soon be in receipt of unpaid wages and compensation?

THere seems to be a genuine issue with some fans considering anything in support of Sturrock is disrespectful to Tilson

I suspect though this is due to how he was turfed out by Our Glorious Leader though.
Yes, you can argue 2 relegations didn't look good on his CV but as discussed to the Nth degree most reasonable people don't blame ST for either.

The whole backstabbing way Sturrock was brought in with players ST had lined up to sign being fobbed off by the chairman and pre-season traininig being put back 4 days again sums up the underhand way it was all done. This is what people are not prepared to forgive and forget.

If RM had the cohones to sack Tilson PROPERLY it should have been done in May, with Sturrock being brought in say 2 or 3 weeks later.

But none of that is Sturrock's fault......?

Thats just ridiculously petty and shows you are not going to give anyone in the new regime a chance?

Widdrington I like.
If PS says "sorry, I can't do it anymore it's all too much with current circumstances" and handed the reigns over to TW then I would be very happy.

This isn't purely a "anyone who's not ST" issue either, there are managers of our level who we reasonably could attract who (bad reputation now resolved) I would be happy to see in the RH hot-seat.

Like who?

I'd think that a high percentage of zoners at least (putting Tilson aside) would say that Sturrock is just about the best we could attact and that it was a very good appointment by Ron.

Surely no one else want us to lose matches and our bad run snowball so they can say I told you so??! :stunned:

Well, I certainly know of one other high-profile poster (who's disappeared from here because he's disgusted with recent events) who feels very very similar to me and I'd bet an awful lot of money we're not the only ones.

A normal Saturday if we lost 3-1 at home (no matter who to) I'd be moping about, depressed and p*ssed off for the rest of the weekend. The Port Vale score bothered me for about 5 seconds...

Oh I don't know... It seems to be a recurrent theme along a number of posters here as of late...

And I'd be interested to know just what's wrong with Sturrock, to be honest. I fully agree that, when Sturrock packs it in, Widdrington will take charge and I think that's exactly why he's here. I'd also have no qualms with Widdrington taking charge as he was carving out a very good reputation for himself on the non-league scene but, for this moment in time at least, I can't see better, more experienced managers than PS taking over.

So you actually want Paul Sturrock to leave already? Is that what you are trying to say? I may have missed a part of this conversation.

Paul Sturrock is the best appointment we could have made, and with Tommy Widdrington next to him, arguably they could be in the top 5 best managerial pair we have ever had. With a mixture of League experience at most levels and a lot of experience in non league (Although they are yet to prove it on the pitch, apart from the Bristol City win!)

I find it absolutely incredible that people will actually be very happy for Paul Sturrock to fail. That's the way it seems to me anyway!

Steve Tilson is gone, Paul Brush has gone.

Paul Sturrock is here, he knows what he is doing, get a grip guys!

a) No, not what I'm saying. Go back 6 or 7 weeks, I never wanted him here from the second somebody posted they had just seen him checking into a hotel in Basildon.

b) Thanks to The Three Stooges...

c) I bet the vast majority of supporters won't think that at Christmas time

With your seemingly anti-SUFC stance at the moment, I'm not sure why you are still a mod on SZ?

Seems odd that a website for the fans of SUFC has a mod that hates the chairman (fair enough), doesnt like the current manager and wants him removed after 3 league games, doesnt seem to rate any of the players, doesnt go to many matches and his ultimate happy outcome for SUFC is to continue to LOSE matches, get relegatated and then FOLD?!?

Most bizarre...

I think that the appointment of Luggy was underhand to say the least....Tilly had his arms slowly chopped off from the day Jennings took over the signing of new players, Brush was removed as his assistant and the players were treated in such a way by RM that it made his job near on impossible....to then leave him in limbo, and it is obvious he had already lined up Sturrock and then wait until the day before appointing him to remove Tilly was disgusting..He then gives Luggy free reign and let's him sign (not Jennings) any player he liked. To add insult to injury rather than pay Tilly's contract up he then put him on gardening leave so's to only pay him his monthly wage, which now we know he has not received.Furthermore RM then comes out with further statements such as , "everybody has been paid all they are owed" and treats fans and all ex staff( and I include players, managers, staff, business's alike here) like dirt which pours salt on already open wounds.

I am no fan of Luggy ..I don't know anything about him really but I will give him time to prove himself as we have no other choice in the matter...IMO the players he has signed are not up to any standard for league 2 but time will tell I guess....As for the previous regime and all that went on, I doubt time will make any difference to me as the damage and disgusting way they were all treated is unforgivable.

At least thats a more reasonable time frame to judge!!
