The other trade unions seem very quiet and don't seem to be supporting the students at all.

That's actually a very good point. Not so many years ago, unions were joined at the hip during disputes but the silence is deafening this time. Back in the 80's there was a major dispute between management and the UCW Union which represented communication workers (postmen, BT, etc) There was a blanket walkout across the SS postal district and ballots sent out across London and the South East over support action. We recieved offers of support from the RMT, Sogat 82 and even the NUM who were having their own problems at the time. As it turned out the management was right and we were wrong (but would never have admitted it) and we returned to work a week later but the point is we were being backed to the hilt. Why not the same level of support for the NUS.

They are supporting them , but mainly their supporting UKuncut .

Fasinating read in a left wing, lets bring the establishment down sort of way. I notice that Phillip Greens tax bill would be for last year which would put Labour in charge at the time. Forgot to follow it up did they? And Vodafone seemed to have been overlooked as well. Tut, tut, Labour really dropped the ball there didn't they. Osbourne let them off!! What a load of horse ****. 9 months into a new govenment and the coalalition is being blamed and scapegoated for 11 years of socialist mis-management.

If we are hunting down the tax dodgers and bill non payers then why not the NHS Tourists that owe 22 million. No, of course not, lets not start offending people now. And besides, its much more fun blaming it on the tories.

Because £7 Billion from vodafone is worth far more ? Phillip Green is resident in this country and hasnt been paying for decades and has power and influence where as the floating NHS tourists would cost nearly as much to find (but of course need to be looked at ) ? As Lord Football said last time he printed some figures on the estimated unclaimed tax it was between £46-120 Billion (can you confirm LF) ?

Are you aware of the difference between millions and billions and that this issue isn't actually a political one as Labour , Tories and Liberals all all doing it ? It's actually more along the lines of instantiated theft on a grand scale . But if you want to call it left wing you go for it.
