It is my opinion..The bloke only knows hoof ball...Is an ok Manager with outdated ideas, but if shyte football in League 2 floats your boat , good for you.
The hoof ball style of play stopped when Widdrington was got rid of....I think we play some good, on the floor football now. You are so anti Ron, you seem to think anything related to Ron is rubbish/corrupt

Yes of course the league position shows that...silly me.
That would be the good football that produced no shots on target, no shots off target and no corners for half of the match against the worst team in the league ?
Do you really believe that in L2 the position you end up in is determined just by playing football on the floor....L2 is a lottery
When we've had key players fit, the football on offer hasn't been bad at all since the turn of the year. Most people have commented on the form we produced to take us away from the bottom end of the table towards the Play-Off regions and it's a shame that injuries have conspired against the good form we were putting together.
For what it's worth, after 38 league games we're having one of our most fruitful seasons in front of goal. We've scored 53 goals so far, whereas last year it was 44 and the season before it was 45. The year before that, the League One PO season, we had scored 59 by now.
I really don't think it's questionable that Sturrock has done a good job to have us where we are, with the resources at his disposal and the injuries to key players we've suffered (Barker, Mohsni, Corr).
I don't think it's a coincidence that the negativity on here this weekend has coincided with the demise of our PO ambitions, and I also think it's a shame that credit seemingly can't be given where it's due.
Where in my post did I say yesterday?
My, that's generous of you....I think most would believe he's done considerably better than most would have expected considering where we were last summer.I'll be honest, I don't like Sturrock but I'll grudgingly admit he's probably done as well as most would have expected.
But those previous lower goal tallies were against unquestionably better teams.
I'll be honest, I don't like Sturrock but I'll grudgingly admit he's probably done as well as most would have expected. When we suddenly found ourselves in with a chance of the play-offs that was the time to kick on. Instead against a background of injuries, embargo rumours, embargo denials, 43 players whose agents warned them off the club and sundry other "mishaps", it's all gone flat. Ron's support for Sturrock was conspicuous by its absence; the time to strengthen a team is when things are going well. It didn't happen. Sturrock is part of the management and must shoulder some of the blame.
Hell, in December the general consensus on this board was that we were relegation fodder that'd do well to survive.
Never mind that, at the end of February we were one place out of the play-offs with a game in hand. That was the time to make a push and we just let it slip away. When a chance like that presents itself, you've got to go for it. Unless the footballing side of the business is not the top priority.
I'd say the business side of the football club should be taking top priority. If we can't afford to bring in players to supplement a play-off push, then why should we gamble on that chance? We did precisely that in our Championship season, overspent and sowed the seeds for our own collapse.
And, as you say yourself, it's not as if we flat out refused to get anybody in... Attempts were made to bring in players, it's just 43 players didn't deem us a viable option.
And if you believe 43 players turned us down (I personally don't), you've surely got to ask why.

Can someone clarify when this 43 figure was for? Was it from the start of the season (when Sturrock was trying to assemble a squad from scratch, along with loans later in the season) or just us trying to get loans and players in at January?Which has the biggest load of crap coming out the club Iv'e heard in a long time! 43 players and not one wanted to come here? Yeah right.
