At least we will have blooded quite a few youngsters ready for next season in case Martin can't find his wallet to buy in any players.
Have you any idea how expensive it is to fill up a Bentley these days? :thump:
We are not going down and certainly wont be getting promoted so why not blood these youngsters from now til end of season.
Thought more senior lads Sturrock and Soares were very poor
2 players who I will not be sorry to see gone next season
The only way both will go is if the manager leaves as well. If he stays only Soares will leave.
It is a shame that nepotism should cloud his judgement. It was quite clear last Friday that Crawford should have been given far longer this season than the 5 minute run-out he normally gets. I wonder how things would haver been with a Corr-Crawford front two this season?
Anyone who genuinely beleives that we dont still have money worries is deluded
Makes me laugh that stockport are talking about staying up and a seasons best win , but in truth a fully fit squad would have murdered them.
Anyone who genuinely beleives that we dont still have money worries and are not under an embargo is deluded
Im glad (by hook or by crook) that we gave these guys this game time today - our season's been over since the 1 point in 9 we picked up at the start of the month and it would be nice to see a few more blooded as the season dies out. Ive been impressed by some of the Yoofs in the reserve games and hopefully they can all get a game ot two before the season is out!
I'm delighted that two more Under-18s made their debuts today, and I'd also like to see them blooded between now and May. However, it will be important to manage this (as I'm sure Paul Sturrock is aware). It sounded from the radio commentary today that Teddy Nesbitt made a good impression at left-back when he come on the for the second half, and that will've been down the assistance that he got from playing alongside Graham Coughlan and Chris Barker at the back (he even said as much in his post-match interview with BBC Essex). Same thing with Harry Crawford last week, playing alongside experienced forwards in Barry Corr and Blair Sturrock, and with Kane Ferdinand since Christmas, coming into midfield with Craig Easton and Anthony Grant (plus Barker and Coughlan behind him).
I'm sure we'll see George Smith at some stage, and Alex Woodyard and James Stevens again, but it is key that this is a drip-drop of players and not just slinging them all in at the same time (unless this is unavoidable!). That way we'll probably see better performances from them, and hopefully expectations will be more manageable.
I wasn't able to go to the game but have had some feedback from my (wo)man at the game. Is anyone going to post player ratings as I'd be interested to see if they are in accordance with what I have been told.
Was anyone really that stupid to support this farce?
