Why have we got to apply for planning again, I thought that had already been passed a few years ago based on the 4 sided pictures we get on here?

Given that we can't afford to pay our staff and pay the taxman, how will we afford the upkeep on this new stadium, even if Sainsbury's do build 3/4 of it for us?

We got planning permission for a four sided ground. We then modified that permission to build a three sided ground. Now we need new permission for the new stand.

Upkeep on the new ground will be significantly lower than upkeep on Roots Hall is.
 
Does this mean that Kevin Maher will finally get his testimonial? I seem to remember Uncle Ron confirming it would be in the new stadium in July 2008...

In other words if the Stadium doesnt get built soon SUFC will go out of business Ron will go bankrupt and AFCSouthend will be born and we will be playing in Ryman League North with the likes of Tilbury and Wakering Rovers.

We have heard it all before and for years now.

When they actually start building it and stop saying they will start building it then you will see more positivity. Sadly even then the cloud of the 4th stand is going to hang over it even then.
 
Tell you what, if when the new stadium was announced, we'd have gone over there with a load of Lego and started building, we'd have been playing there by now.

However, I am bored with this, and will only ever believe we will finally move when I see us kick a ball there. Until then, I am quite happy to put this in the "it will never happen" box. If I take any other view, I am just going to get angry.
