I would like to thank True Blue for asking me to be the manager of the Southend United fans team in the match supporting such a worthwhile charity.

When asked it took me all of one second to think before accepting the request.

Thanks.

It was a no brainer Ken.

We had a long list of names in frount of us but it was your footballing C.V that caught our eyes.

Looking forward to working with you and in beating the six fingered toads from up the A12

On this sad day it has been decided that there will be a minute's silence prior to the game in honour of both Homer Jolley and Canvey Harry, both avid SUFC fans who would have undoubtedly supported this event.

Well said ken!

That's a top idea and really fitting. Just wondered whether the trend for a minutes applause has been considered. I'm sure nobody would be stupid or crass enough to deliberately spoil a tribute , but you sometimes do still get the odd idiot or even mobile phones going off.
I must admit I'm old school , so prefer the traditiional silence but would hate anything to spoil the tribute.

Me to and am only 29 ....but this is why I mentioned it to Ken the other day and he thought it was a great idea and am sure both sets of fans will respect it

I've spoken to the ref and he will allow us to wear pink sock tape in support of the charity. Usually used to support breast cancer but I thought this would be a nice touch for us to have something visable on the day.
