The way Braintree are flying, they could be teaching Colchester a lesson in football as early as next season, they have 4 games in hand over some teams (if they won there games in hand, in theory they could be up to 3rd).

In other news, according to BBC weather, it looks like the updated weather has improved greatly, and no rain is currently forecast between 9am until 8pm. It's Still blinking Breezy though (around 50 miles an hour gusts). Unfortunately for poor old Tom his running right into it.

Tomorrow will be difficult, Colchesters luck is surely going to turn at some point. So my prediction from my heart is 2-0 to us, but my head says 1-1 !

Looking forward to the game, but with predicted winds of 50mph +, I think the reward will come in keeping the ball on the deck. It's going to be diffucult for both sides, but if we play like I know we can we should win the game. Just hope the weather doesn't ruin the game.

As you say, the wind is forecast to be almost 50mph all afternoon. It is to come from the South, presuming we play towards the North Bank in the first half this could be a major advantage? Some though say that it is easier to play into the wind with less over hit passes. Should be interesting. Provided they are on target, maybe long range shots towards the North Bank could prove crucial.

I am excited about tomorrow, but I am scared at same time cos the Ewes haven't won since October so they are overdue a first win in ages!! I would put a tenner on a away win as an insurance to soften the blow! I rather lose a tenner if that mean we win tomorrow!

I fear that a lot of the game will revolve around the officials and the weather. We need to keep the ball close to the ground and go for the jugular. All things being equal, I expect a solid win.

i turned down a trip to see ManOwaR in Sweden this weekend for this derby. As the weeks have gone by it's looked an even better decision because it might be the last time we see our many-digited friends from the grim and frozen north for a while.

after a few beers the other week i've ended up bringing an Aussie mate to his first Essex Derby so all I want is a tingle down the spine and a ****ing big win

Good man on the Aussie front. As he's an antipodean see how he gets on with this:

My iPad won't let me read that bottom line............

That's what comes of having an iPad mate. It says 'We love you Southend we do, oh Southend we love you' in upside down script. It doesn't have quite the same effect when you have to explain it. I presume its got nothing to do with your position in the league that the iPad won't show anything below the bottom line??

Ha ha I was being sarcastic of course I could read it, but as regards our league position even Apple can't do much about that!

Not that I want to make your league position any worse (I'm lying of course), I think we may increase your goals against column tomorrow.

They could probably help the club not pay any taxes whilst employing plenty of lawyers and accountants to get around national laws and stick 2 fingers up at the people who buy their products though .........

Just a thought but can you ever see the day when there is no segregation at a lower division football club? OK we obviously need segregation for clubs such as Millwall however do we really need segregation for other clubs (such as Colchester, Fleetwood etc). Was speaking to a NFL fan (Kansas City) who was surprised we still had segregation. He used an example of the rivalry his club had with Denvor (which would be 100 times worse than ours with Col Utd). Fans enjoy banter outside the ground would have BBQs in the car park and sit next to one another without anyone causing trouble. It looks like fans will miss tomorrow's game due to us not opening Y and Z which is due to segregation which I think is a shame.

If and it is a big if we get back into the championship then we may seriously need to look at how the away end works.

We can't be having like 900 seats for segregation.

We may have to have a rejig in order to accommodate more home fans as a priority.

Was at training on Thursday.

Brown with short hair cut.

Deegan with short hair cut and trimmed beard. :omg:

'1st Team' absent. 'Fringe players' training with Brown and Coughlin.

Amongst those training in a six a side match were: Deegan, Hurst, Timlin, Kamara. Wordsworth, Loza, Worrall, McLaughlin.

Coker was present and in training gear but sitting on a football watching?

For those of you suggesting that Deegan could come straight back in, or that Brown might opt for Kamara, does this suggest that none of the above will start and can only hope for a place on the bench at best?

Quality reporting.

Chris Phiilips must be sweating on his job

Re-assuring though, to know that Phil and Deegan have lost some weight (even if it does come from their hairy area's!).. as Tesco's say.."every little helps"

and the injured and suspended took part in a 6 a side training session.

Sarcastic arse. You should try checking your spelling for starters - how many i's/l's in Phillips

The only reason i posted what i did was because some were saying that Deegan etal would be starting.

Anyway, it must be way past your bedtime so good night little boy.

PS if you don't understand basic latin (etal) spend your time usefully and look it up.
