Totally off the wall, given how well Wind appears to have played in the match when GSM was suspended, is there a case for Wind to play at right wing back and for GSM to be moved into right midfield to give us more of a goal threat and drive, which our midfield seems to be lacking? I can't get to games any more, so this idea may be well wide of the mark, like most of our recent attempts on goal, it would seem from the match reports. Apologies if this suggestion has already been covered and discussed in other threads.

Id like to see this assuming fit.

Width
Available player at the back but more midfield than CD
4 at the back
CM playing forward and good at the press
Pebble to hold the ball up
Goals, pace and attacking width from bridge and walker
Good defensive and attack supporting full backs

CHRIS Wreh insists he will forever be grateful for the part Southend United played in his career.

The former Shrimpers striker will be back at Roots Hall with Tamworth this weekend.

But the 28-year-old will never forget the opportunity handed to him by Blues boss Kevin Maher.

“I will always have respect for Southend, the manager and most importantly the fans who were always so supportive towards me,” said Wreh.

“I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity they gave me in my career and I really enjoyed it there.

“I’m still in regular contact with a lot of the boys there and it was sad ultimately I had to leave.”

Wreh joined Blues ahead of the 2022/23 season after impressing on trial and went on to score four goals in 29 appearances.

However, the forward was unable to remain at Roots Hall due to the club’s transfer embargo and he joined Hartlepool United in July 2023.

Wreh made just five starts for Pools before joining Tamworth, initially on loan, back in February.

And he is enjoying lining up for the Lambs who won the National League North title last season.

“It’s been going really well with Tamworth,” said Wreh.

“I’ve scored a few goals and we as a team have proved many wrong that we can compete at this level.

“We want to keep that going and finish in a respectable position in the league.

“I want to help that happen by scoring and consistently playing at a good level.”

Wreh has scored three goals in 10 games this season.

But he is fighting to be fit enough to feature this weekend “I’ve had a calf tear and a blood clot in my calf stroke shin,” said Wreh.

“I’ve trained once but I’m hopeful I will play.”

Especially as we are lucky if we score more than one bloody goal per match!!!!!!!!!!
yesterday my YouTube algorithm threw up the Chesterfield home game highlights from last season, the one that was shown live on TNT.
The commentator- Adam Summerfield? - mentioned the fact we had scored in every home game so far.
How times have changed 😕

Quite a few views think we are going to hammer Tamworth. but our Manager and Player view seems to be that this is going to be a really tough test , and from their descriptions, reminds me of the regular times we tend to keel over to such "Physical" sides

"Tough to beat, they really ask questions, really tough challenge, its going to be very physical, “The ball will be launched into our box from all sorts of angles and they’ve got a long throw which is going to shock a few I think. “It’s a different test to what we’ve had recently but it’s something you’ve got to deal with

Blues undefeated away in 3 but lost 3 straight Homes Games in a row. Hope the Home jitters dont set in Sounds like we really need to stand up here according to Crowther? But can we?

Although above us, in the league, Tamworth do leak goals, 25 , but that included the 7 nil Drubbing from Barnet, They got off to a bad start only winning once in seven games, but since then have really turned it around with 5 wins and a draw in the last 8 games
I have a meeting I have to attend at 5pm but would like to catch some of it live off a temporary loaned fire stick? Otherwise Radio Essex in the background

Hope it is at thrashing we hand out and all enjoy a great game

Eastleigh a drive and then a shot ends in a "lucky" goal, Rochdale a faster move and then another "lucky" goal. At Aldershot we didn't make our "luck" .
The idea that shots on goal are only taken when percentages are high for success is not one our forwards and midfielders should adhere to; take a swing and get "lucky" lads.
