Anybody my sort of age has seen us play Southport loads of times in the league /EFL (for youngsters). We should be able to edge it in the FAT.

We’ve done it before—winning more than comfortably—then sat back—freak equaliser and ……has Collin ever got anywhere near to saving a penalty ?
We did have a couple of weaker players playing—Wood,Kabalongo—but totally failed to press home our so obvious advantage and Hampton and Richmonds 98thminute equaliser was a rocket header by Gus.
It was Dave Martin who didn’t get anywhere near their penalties.
Maher,in his wisdom, had taken off Bridge, our chief penalty-taker with just a few minutes remaining !

I have vague recollection of him saving one a few seasons ago. We were in the South Upper, it was a cup game and possibly his first appearance for us. Those with better memories can probably confirm.

It was on his first appearance in a cup game when what’s his name (the lad on loan from Norwich) scored that scorcher. Dorking.

Southport have sold just over 100. The other 500+ are our sales in the NB. Should be able to get a bit of atmosphere going with those numbers and hardcore fans in there.
That's what I thought. Good numbers and certainly better than having fans in the Southbank.

One hopes that the 500 odd that have chosen to go in there are doing so because they want to generate an atmosphere, not just sit down and not back the team.

So if you will go to the final why sneer at the at those of us who are going tomorrow. The club will be making money from ticket sales not just prize money if you win it.
No. I'm in no position to sneer at anyone.

I'll also be there tomorow.

I'm more concerned with doing our best to move up the table and back to where we belong in the EFL.

Imagine a bunch of Southport cloggers smash Pepple or the like and put him out for the season for a pony cup. The whole point of having a squad is to use them and minimise the risk in lesser games and not risk players we don't have to.
