Especially at Roots Hall. The amount of defenders that poke out a leg in desperation for fear of being made to look silly.I just don't understand this clamour to drop Bridge.

Not 'drop', rest. The implications are very different. I want to get Bridgey back on top form ASAP and personally I think coming off the bench in the second half with defenders tiring will help him be more direct and effective, and therefore spark a bit better form from him.I just don't understand this clamour to drop Bridge.

It's not dropping him in the manner inferred by the wording of your post. Not for me anyway. I think Bridge, Noor and Wes are all a little off form - and I think this will help. The other lads deserve a go from the start and these boys make up a strong bench alongside Dackers and JD.
It’s not about being physically tired (unless he’s carrying a knock). I think he’s looking leggy but actually he needs a mental boost. But we've only had one game in 3 weeks, he doesn't need a rest.
However people want to put it, it's dropping him.
We lost at the leaders last time out. The game before we were excellent and Bridge scored the only goal. I think he's our most creative player, in pretty good form and I just cannot see the reasoning, personally.

Teams have been doubling up on Bridge for two years and he has still been delivering amazing numbers. We can't let last Saturday's game become a yardstick of how we are analysing our players. It's not dropping him, it's giving the oppo something else they are not expecting. Tactics need to change when they are getting stale and predictable. Teams are now doubling up on our left hand side because that is 99% of where we play out our attacks and everyone looks for Bridge. Not starting is not the same as dropping. If we change up what we are doing they will not expect it or be ready for it when we switch back which will give Bridge back the freedom to destroy them
I agree. Not just that but some are suggesting putting Ralph at wing back.I just don't understand this clamour to drop Bridge.
Good player and great movement / can beat a man when dribbling at them, but his decision making / final ball is too often wanting for me.Wes is such an enigma - one week he's unplayable, the next he's blowing after 20 minutes and is asking for a first touch for Christmas.
You're kidding, surely.Wes is such an enigma - one week he's unplayable, the next he's blowing after 20 minutes and is asking for a first touch for Christmas.
I think Maidenhead found him unplayable. Double nutmeg and a cool finish - goal D I think it isYou're kidding, surely.
Wes 'unplayable'? Name me the game, please? And I don't mean that in a challenging way.
Have seen most matches 23/24 either online or in the flesh, and I'm happy to agree he links up well enough. But its total impact?
More often than not he's berating himself for a shot on its way to Southend Victoria. He can't tackle; his control is iffy, and he even admitted himself in a recent Echo article he needs to be more effective.
I really don't get this idea he's integral to the team - and nor does Kev.
According to Soccerway, he's made 24 NL starts and been subbed 15 times.
I'm sure he's a nice bloke; one you could share a beer with, but we need something a bit more telling in his role.
