Woke up today actually genuinely excited about having tickets to this FA cup game tomorrow, cant remember the last time that was the case for the cup.

Excited to see a busy roots hall with a full away end, great atmosphere and the chance of an upset. Hope there are some fa cup jester hats for sale around the ground!
I am busily making my tin foil F.A. Cup in readiness for tomorrow.

Getting the pre-match nerves now. It is ultimately a free hit but I'm still nervous which must mean I'm excited. Another sign of how COSU have changed our mindsets.

Losing Alfie May was huge for them but Matty Godden is a brilliant replacement. They also have the experienced Danny Hylton too. Their wingers have pace in abundance and Luke Berry is a quality player. If we beat this outfit, it will be a great achievement. We've seen some wonderful things at the Hall and I'm hoping for another great day. COYB!!!!

I always get a buzz from going to Roots Hall to watch Southend, but I'm truly excited for this game. Maybe it's just the fact that we're up against league opposition again, or maybe it's down to the fact that they will bring a few fans with them and the ground will buzz, or maybe it's because we might just get a result (it would be about time). Whatever it is, who cares, I'm just seriously up for it.

I said to my son and mates last week - I reckon we will either win, or lose but play really well and give them a really tough game

I was talking with my dad earlier and I said to him that we really have to pinch ourselves and take stock of what has happend and what is in front of us.

When one sits down and reels off what COSU have implemented already, it's amazing. Clock fixed, new score board, sponsorships coming out of our ears, D2 lounge, hospitality improved, new interactive screens gone in this week, north bank fixed and massively enhanced, west stand bar improved, new beers available, planning applications for another bar, training ground ready by Jan and staff actually being paid! They've been here a matter of months! Just let that sink in...

There were fans genuinely preferring to go and play over a park just to get rid of Ron. Yet, we are now on the eve of an FA cup match with a team, management and owners to be proud of, ready to play in a packed Roots Hall. That's why you're buzzing fellow shrimper, and I'm fully with you. Utb!

Tomorrow should be a cracking day with RH filled to the rafters.Good chance to show how we are progressing as a team to play a team from higher up the leagues. We probably aren't expected to win but it's the cup and we are at home so anything can happen. Cant wait

what a brilliant post and 100% spot on

Surprised they didn’t choose this tie for the TV tbh.
Because, sadly, we're not as important to them as we would like to be. Since we've plunged into the depths of the NL we've completely dropped off the Beeb's radar. But do know what? I just don't care, it will make the crowd that little bit bigger. And five years from now we can have a chant 'Who put the ball in the Charlton net - Bim bang Bonne. (bit of a stretch but who cares).

I hear what you are saying, but the fact that we are probably the biggest club in non league now would surely make a good draw for a tv game against any league club.

sorry i cant see us winning ,but i do believe the lads will put in a really solid performance once the nerves have gone ,and a performance that will start hopefully a push towards the playoffs in the league , a performance that will give them the belief in themselves for the rest of the season .1-3 is my prediction and 8000 very satisfied supporters.
