Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 3-2 Hartlepool

People I was with said same thing Phil.....funnily enough, have heard reports both goals down to Grant's errors

I can guarantee you that their first goal was down to McCormack. He tried to cushion a header to Grant on the edge of our box and his **** poor pass was intercepted, played outwide to Boyd who lashed it home.

From the radio reports it was Macca's error, that is all I have to go by as wasn't there. As much as I love you ;) I have to admit that your defence of Macca all the time no matter what and your high marks for him every week is as tedious as Wiggy's attacks on Mildenhall and defence of Flavs was.

Ooooh, you flirt! Can only say that I speak as I find, and ok, sometimes that comes over as very pro Macca, but today I just don't see any anti comments.

Slight baffled with the Macca criticisms today. For me Macca drove us forward second half, typified by him not giving up, and robbing the full back for our second goal. I may be wrong but I put Grant at fault for the first goal, and Morrison for the second. We will found out tonight on the football league show. Also I think Malone was outstanding second half.
Dont know whether anyone has see this before, but here is Malone scoring for Hungarians Ujpest against rivals Honved in a 3-0 win. Forgot to mention though, he also gives away a dubious penalty

Welcome to my world - am convinced that sometimes, just sometimes people criticise to wind me up

I ****ing give up. This siege mentality people adopt when it's an opinion-based thread is ridiculous... I won't bother giving a match report in the future in case it's construed as a personal attack.

I have to say, if Macca ever gets himself in any bother with the law, you would make a good defence lawyer. He has been below par this season, but today any criticism is for me unjustified

Walking to the ground today I was full of foreboding thinking if we lose this game we are in real trouble and possibly heading for the drop, irrational I know but it just felt like it for me.
Barney misses another glorious chance and I have convinced myself we are doomed, half time at 2-0 nil down and I'm sure its all over.
Now I dont know what Tilly and Brush said at half time but I'm guessing it went like this.
'Look guys we're being beaten by Hartlepool, if we dont win this game I'm ****ed, you're ****ed the club is ****ed in fact we're all pretty much ****ed, now for **** sake go out there and play with whatever sense of pride and love you have for this club and get us a result.'
I think this may have been one of the all time great half time talks because we came out second half with a real purpose and desire.
Three other things Laurent is almost unplayable when on song,MOM was deserved by Morrison, steady sure and strong, and a message for all the Macca knockers, this fella sweats blue blood for the cause , puts his body and soul on the line for our club and dserves our support. End of message

:( :obl: :( Big hugs x x

Morrison and Laurent were both brilliant today. Morrison deservidly the MOTM in my opinion, but Laurent was full of skills.

An entertaining match and three points- makes the beer taste all the sweeter!

Mildenhall 7
JFC 8 (better than Francis)
Morrison 6.5
Barrett 7
Malone 6
Laurent 9 MOM (one man show for first half)
Macca 7.5
Grant 7.5
Moussa 4 (sorry time to drop him)
Barnard 8
Jabo 7

Subs
Scannell 6.5 (non effective)
Walker 6.5

Ref - 9 (probably one of the best performance especially due to the poor performance from the east stand linesman)

Thought Macca played well today - 2 good performances in a row, hopefully the old macca is back. I cant understand the criticism on here today.

Morrison was class today - passing is excellent and he looks so assured on the ball. He will be some player when he gets older.

Laurent - I said last week he would be a £1m player if he works on his passing. It was better today so Ron should be hoping he keeps that up. So exciting to watch - actually reminds me of Stan Collymore (although not as good).
