I don't get the criticism on Bentley I agree with Penney he is the best keeper in the two lower divisions. We have to remember he is only 21 could still be playing top level for 20 years. He has a lot to improve on but he will play at the highest division. All you haters will realise after he's left that he is by far the best keeper we've had in years

Don't think there are any DB haters on here. On best keepers in the division I guess the Plymouth keeper who's name escapes me (age you know) must be up there with one of the best too.

2 goals from big JP and the striker crisis is over, so we move on and invent a CB crisis here on shrimper moan. We have the best management team in L2 to judge who are our best defenders. Seven games at home without conceding, what would some clubs do to have the 'dodgy' Thompson and B-Williams in there team.

You are the only one inventing a CB crisis , you are the only one moaning, the rest of us are very clearly happy that we have strength in depth and are having a healthy conversation on it , no moaning, no crisis and no one calling Thompsons performance on tuesday dodgy- so don't know why you brought that up.

what don't you get? Its a match thread, its about the performance in the match. Just because someone says that they thought he made mistakes does not make them haters, and does not mean that they think he is a brilliant keeper. Otherwise we would all be giving him a ten every week becasue he is the best in the league

Quite right that we should have debate and opinion..... and I have stated mine....that some on the zone border on hate and refuse to ever give credit. A good way is to check the posters likes given. Invariably no likes given = the more bile spewed about their own team, manger, new signing etc

The moment JBW moved to CB v Plymouth the boo boys had nothing constructive to say about his performance.
I looked at post match threads from the away games and read some of the rubbish comments and marks about Thommo and JBW. Don't mind 'healthy debate' about who is the future CB's or any other subject, but an unconstructive not for debate post, because you don't like the person is wasting every ones time.


And yes the term Dodgy was used in this thread.

I totally get your points, but I think you choose a bad example with THIS thread. Did someone use dodgy speaking about Tuesdays performance? And I don't see anything negative in the talk on this thread on the center back partnership- as I said it was all about strength in depth. With regard to THIS thread you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

the fact is we have a very strong squad for L2, CB we have Prosser, Barrett, Thompson, Bolger and Williams and White providing cover, the fullbacks Coker and White with Williams and Thompson providing cover.
ditto midfield; Hurst would walk in to most teams, so would Deegan. This is GOOD! we have options and cover!
Forwards are not quite as strong but even there now we have some options.

I still think we miss David Morley

I think Williams is a much betterprospect, the problem is that he isn’t our prospect. I only see the benefit ofus playing Williams ahead of Prosser if we think we are going to get him on aperm basis.

I'd be happy if we do get him, no suprise that he is surplus to requirements at palace but would imagine there would be more interested parties than just us

When we signed JBW it was said that Warnock did not rate him at all but with a change of manager at Palace things could be different. Let's hope we go up and he elects to stay with us if released. Problem may be that if others see potential he could have his head turned and elect to go to (another) Div 1 club. Would be tough since we have turned him into a promising work in progress as a CB. But that's what can happen with the loan system.
