Your posts are not offensive to me , I just find some of your posts too negative for my own personal taste.
I am all for discussions and welcome it .

What I do applaud you for and agree with you on is the following segment from your post

"I personally would never say such stuff in public hence why I say my piece on here."

Maybe if others did the same the players would feel genuine support on the pitch.
There are certain so called fans in the south upper and in the east stand that are far too verbal with their criticism and are pretty much vile with their comments. I would much rather they vented their anger on here.

Didn't think I would be agreeing with you on anything but hey I am open to different ways of looking at things.

I don't believe in abusing players or staff in public, some of the verbal I hear is truly appalling and has no place inside football stadiums.I figure most of the abusers are cowards..how many would face up to Corr in the car park?

...aaand it begins!

The ref - 5 - Played advantage well on a few occasions but seemed very fussy and loved blowing his whistle 5 times in quick succession.

I'm surprised you thought the referee did worse than every single one of our players. A niggly match with virtually every aerial challenge by both teams involving some sort of push, he could have blown that whistle a whole lot more and a dire match (bar the 10 minute spell) would have become even more dire. He did okay.

Is it just me but I cannot believe we continue to play two players out of their natural positions at the back when there are natural replacements on the bench. Thompson is largely a liability wherever he plays but definitely doesn't convince me at full back. Better teams than the four we played in November will murder him. Just because we win a few games against poor opposition is no reason not to change things at the back. This whole don't change a winning side when you have a big talented squad is somewhat archaic to me in the modern game.

Those with longer memories will remember that White has played much of his career at left back- we actually brought him in on loan as a left back when we were in L1. He can play either side- and unusually for todays footballers can use either foot which obviously helps.

Thompson I agree and would actually pout Sokolik there ahead of Thompson (on the basis that Sokolik is a better on the ground a quicker). Yeovil put Sokolik at RB more than once- al be it in my mind he is potentially our best CB.

White looks comfy at LB...thompson not a RB thats for sure....coker coming back will iron that out hopefully.

Ratings.....

Bentley 6 nothing to do
White 6 done what he had to
Thompson 4 just not up to it.....dread when he comes up against better players
Bolger 6 worries me, clumsy and error prone
Payne 6 am a big fan but stifled today
A Toole 5 if that's him busting a gut in his first game against a team that don't rate him then it's another Tango, co ck up....Clifford far more useful
Timlin 7 plenty of break up play, effort A Toole could only dream about
Weston 6 frustrating as in there is a good player....touch good at times and the ability to cause problems
Worrall 7 would like 3 of him....best signing by far
Corr 6 encourages hoof ball and not even that good in the air
Posser 6 steady Eddie but hoofs too much
Deegan 6.....not a fan but touched it more than the new bloke in 10 mins than he did in 80

The truth is this forum possibly has 10% of the fan base actually viewing this site and I guess around 2 or 3% actually posting.

The general abuse I hear at the Hall toward Phil and the players and the style is way over the top for all the world to hear and whilst I agree itHe some of their comments I personally would never say such stuff in public hence why I say my piece on here.

I'm sorry it offends you.

Fair play to that comment.

Not trying to cause a debate or row but i personally thought that Weston was our best performer today as did the 3 people I was with at the match.

All opinions I guess, but for me he is a decent option when he plays in his proper position on the left wing, he grafts, he is an outlet and he creates things - up top he is not the same player as he lacks that natural finishing ability and you don't get to run as much with the ball which is his best asset.

I thought on balance he was good today, but if he had been subbed after an hour nobody would have complained. But he was excellent after we scored and the Cobblers had to come out and leave him some space. He's been very decent away from home this year for exactly the same reason, but of course the boo boys don't generally go away so they think he is useless.

For what it's worth when Weston was announced as MOM a number of people around me laughed and I don't blame them!

This for me is the problem with a lot of our fans. I personally think Timlin should have been man of the match but Weston wasn't far off and to laugh at it will just shrink his already ailing confidence even further. Once he did that excellent run and shot that was tipped over, you could see the transformation in his game - purely down to confidence. I wish some of our supporters would recognise a confidence player and not try and make the problem even bigger.

Spot on Wiggy except ratings reversal for otoole and Thompson.

Totally agree with this.

I think a good team will take us apart and the way we are set up will have zero chance .

Not sure what you are basing this on. I'm as pessimistic as they come and think we are mainly dull to watch, but I don't ever see anyone taking us apart. We've played the two best teams in this division (Shrewsbury and Luton), won one and lost one. Northampton did not create a clear cut chance yesterday - they may be underperforming but they have one of the most expensively-assembled squads in the division and they came here for a point. Teams know to do that now and it does ruin the spectacle of home games a little. Away from home I see us as a real threat to any team. Not so much at home. Of the two tough games coming up, the one we have most chance in IMO is Wycombe.
