Bentley 5 - Made a couple of good saves but was badly, badly let down by the defence. Pretty quiet afternoon.
White 5 - Worst performance in a Blues shirt since he arrived, just couldn't get going.
Phillips 4 - Clearly not match fit and it showed.
Prosser 4 - Looked like he ran out of ideas and his defending was poor.
Coker 4 - Final ball was complete toilet. Worked hard but there was little to show for it.
Hurst 6 - The best of a bad bunch. Took his goal well and tried his best to create chances.
Leonard 5 - Made a few good interceptions but consistently gave the ball away, couldn't shoot and lacked a final ball.
Timlin 4 - Looks a long way off being the player we had last season. Maybe back too soon but was pretty terrible.
Straker 4 - Long marauding runs that ended in giving the ball away or putting in a dire cross that didn't beat first man.
Eastwood 5 - Looked a bit more casual than previous games and gave the ball away cheaply at times. Disappointing.
Woodrow 5 - Tried his best but didn't make a huge impact. Few nice crosses and worked himself into some nice positions.

Atkinson 5 - Looked like he was desperate to get on and certainly improved the midfield.
Corr 5 - Not a huge amount to do, missed a few half chances.
Payne 5 - Tried his socks off, lots of running and tried to keep the ball on the floor.

We appear to not have one player who is capable of delivering a decent cross? I honestly don't think Hurst, Straker, Leonard, Coker or White put one good cross in between them? It was just woeful. To have so much possession and barely even trouble Morecambe was just embarrassing.

I'd have them all in for extra training on Monday to work on crossing as most of them lot today looked like they couldn't have hit sand if they fell off a bloody camel.

Oh and Jack Sampson? I f*****g knew he was gonna do that

Said even after the first three games that our position was slightly misleading. We got lucky against Northampton, had they scored the penalty etc game might have been very different. We played well at Chesterfield and should have got a point. Not great last week against Wycombe, but should have got a point. Today for the first 35 mins, although not great we looked ok. Then they equalised and both teams looked completely different. People complain about hoof ball, but that's what Morecombe did, effectively and won the game. At the start you could see that Bentley has built a very strong and physical side and I'm afraid today we couldn't compete once the game changed. Hurst and Leonard played ok, Timlin needs more first team game time and Straker, well his time must be up. He was dreadful and to keep Atkinson out of the side is ridiculous. At the back I thought White and Coker did ok, but through the middle we were all over the place. The front two had to feed off scraps, we really lack any sort of play maker in the middle of the park, to play the killer pass. Bentley in goal doesn't command his area anywhere near as much as he should and still stays routed to his line from corners etc. no need to panic and maybe today was an off day, but to lose to a side like Morecombe is very disappointing and PB needs to work hard this week to get the confidence back in the side and maybe a new signing or two.

That's not gonna happen. Otherwise I agree with everything else.

I cursed when they brought the allotment BBQ a day forward to today - as the new boy to it I was under pressure to go so had to instead of being at Roots Hall. So, I spent a few hours in the sunshine this afternoon drinking beer and eating burgers. I even won four prizes in the raffle. Bit of a result really in the end:stunned:.

For anyone not there, I know its been said but straker did not cost us the game today. I can't say anything positive about his performance but can say that about the rest as well

What has honestly changed from a side that won three game games in a row to one that loses three in a row? Laird? Too many team changes? That was painful today and we miss a commanding centre half and timlin should be played on the left not in the centre, That was obvious when he played for sturrock. Positives for me were hurst and Payne, both looked like they wanted to play football.

Their second goal absolutely killed us. Whatever Brown said at half time went straight out the window less than 20 seconds into the 2nd half!

Today's midfield was about the same as we had last season after Christmas when it all went wrong after Tam and Laird were out.
The issue was no real leadership and plan, just the same old same old.
Timlin was off the pace (for him), Leonard was ok when he could pass wide; Hurst did ok sometimes but didn't take his man on enough; Straker had his poorest game at home this season..............only 4 games but I doubt he can be so poor again this year....the worse thing about his game was that players stopped passing to him if they could as it too often meant we lost possession.

Have to admit I was bored as hell today. Thought the second half might show some improvement and then 20 seconds later in goes there second goal. Then the heads went down.
I left the ground with a neck ache as all I seemed to be doing was looking up into the sky.
Morcambe were a big/tall side - why an earth did we not keep it on the deck knowing that. Luckily we are at the start of the season and if we are to have any blips, lets have them early enough in the season to be able to recover.
Keep the faith people.q

Amen to that. Constant crosses that were easily dealt with when balls in behind the back four would have worked a treat

1, Played like they hadn't been paid
2, Need a captain who will make decisions and motivate on the pitch
3 Too many changes to the line up in one go. one who had been with us for 5 minutes, 3 back from injury and obviously not match sharp / fit
4 Indecisive management today should have made changes after about 20 mins
5 Need to practice / train on the Roots Hall pitch as they all seemed strangers to the way it played today. May as well of been the away team
6, Two passes when one would have done the job and created the chances

PB blamed poor decision making from the players for the loss. Maybe he should be looking at his own decision making.

Team selection poor. Substitutions should have been made at half time, but leaving it so late handed the points to morecambe. Straker was woeful, but he tried his best so what more can he do? It's up to the manager to make the sub.

Woodrow looked ok to me, but he seems to be the same type of player as freddy. Its early days, but should we not have signed someone who offers something different to give us the right balance.

Depends who is available. It's not like buying a pie. "I'll have that one, thanks".

Team was woeful today. Fair play to Morecambe, they came with a plan and it worked.

Defence was a series of calamities. Straker was unfortunately one of the worst on the pitch today. I've been a great fan of him this season, but today he looked like the Straker of last season.

Don't think the young lad on loan made much of an impact. Can't really judge him on one game I suppose, but he doesn't look like another Assombalonga. I hope I'm wrong in saying he may be a little out of his depth.

Bentley couldn't be blamed for the goals, especially the last 2.

This was my first home game of this season, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP, its a 3 for all but Hurst who just about gets 4, and if this is Fred looking sharp god help us.

One thing really irks me, why on earth does the pitch have to be waterlogged at the start of each half ? In the 2nd half especially at the start the ball when played on the ground was creating a mini tidal wave !! Why ?
