Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 1-1 Woking

You know what really bugged me last night? I'll tell you. The ball boy was about to throw the ball to their keeper. One of the subs must have said "give it to me"- and then promptly dropped it no more than a metre away.

After a lethargic first half against a side that was far quicker we got to grip in the second half roared on by the fans who created a fantastic atmosphere

That was the sub I referred to in the other thread that triggered the nose jibes. He then started his weirdly over exagerated pelvic thrusting while staring at the women in the group as a response to the nose jibes. I
The women (or men\people/individuals ) could have called that sexual harassment in today's fragile world !
This is how silly it's all got now.

Hmm..Woking manager seems to have missed his three players being booked in the incident that started it all, and any alleged actions and engagement by players with the supporters that might have been shall we say "unhelpful". The investigation may prove a little less one sided than he would like.

Kev's more dignified approach of awaiting the results of the investigation is the wiser one.
Let people do their jobs. And people/clubs punished or not based on the facts. If fans are found to have done wrong then they need to be appropriately dealt with. No doubt the police will be made aware of any bits the Woking manager missed as well...and some of the results of that he might like less.

The whole thing is deeply regrettable to put it mildly.

WOKING boss Darren Sarll felt Southend United’s supporters let themselves down at Roots Hall last night.

Help with Echo links
Knobsack. Maybe if his players weren't constantly goading the supporters, one of them wouldn't have got a clump. From the footage it is hardly one way either. At one point two of their players attempt to lean over the hoarding into the fans.

Happy to go around winding up fans, throws toys out of the pram and cries when they get a bit back.

Seems like a nice bloke Mr Sarll. Butter wouldn’t melt …..

Last season he was managing Yeovil who put their ex player Murphy out of the game for a year.

Ex Stevenage as well …..

I assume anyone who saw this will be reporting same to the police. I believe there is a portal now to do so tweeted by the local officer. I think there is even an Echo picture of one Woking player right up to the front of the Easts giving it large. Two wrongs don’t make a right but Woking can’t be allowed to get away with this holier than thou attitude either.

A really good point that after a poor first half. Not being 7 pts behind Woking is really important, and keeps the run going. Not many teams will beat Woking and we still finding our way under Maher.

That said, I’m not as convinced as I was that it’s all going to click up top. Week in week out we flatter to deceive in the final third and my worry is we just aren’t good enough up top.
Two years on, any change?

Clean sheets aren’t going to get us promotion. We need to score masses of goals and for that to happen, Maher needs to be getting the best out of his two key attacking players: Bonne and Moncur.
Not sure he can get any more from Bonne, who it would appear has been in decline for two years. Our best hope of goals is through Walker, Pepple, Waldron and the transfer market.

Had we been able to do our recruitment in May and June, then I very much doubt Bonne and Moncur would have been signed. Bonne has been a shadow of the player from a few years back and Moncur was a gamble in my opinion. In fact both were and to date it hasn't worked. Moncur was apparently due to start last night, but developed a groin issue. Guess it may be a while before he is fit again.

I would not consider Bonne and Moncur to be key attacking players, a few years ago perhaps, but certainly not now.
