Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 1-0 Oldham Athletic

Very professional performance tonight ,every player played their part and we limited Oldham to very few chances , whilst getting the ball forward quickly at every opportunity.
I’ve a sneaky feeling this could be the result we needed to have Gateshead panicking and fearing the worse , with the new lads and Golding to come back in we have a good chance of nicking that spot

The club should discount all tickets for remaining home games to try and get bumper crowds to get the boys over the line

Start believing

Listened to it on the radio, as I do most games, and the support sounded tremendous 👍

I know it was a decent crowd but did the North Bank acoustics play its part 🤔

Always thought that a vibrant North Bank can make the Hall a bit of a fortress 👍👍

Fan-Tastic. The Twelth Man well and truly turned up, all around the ground. The North Bank certainly works when it's like that. KAF and Parillon, WOW. Bonne such a nuisance and ran his wotsits off. In fact the whole team were brilliant, even the weakest links. We are in for a hell of a ride the last few games.

They have. It's in the FINAL FOUR thread. I will bump it for you.

Great listening to first half of game while on a coach from Inverness to Ullapool. Then most of second half on ferry across the Minch to Stornaway in 55mph gusts. Was rocking nearly as much as the North Bank and W block. AMAZING. Now trying to persuade Mrs Bigmolt to come to Gateshead for last game of season!!!!
Can’t wait to watch the D1 show on YouTube laters.

The 3 of the 4 minutes of injury time that Bonne and Bridge wasted in the South East corner were an absolute masterclass in time wasting and ****housery and was a real joy to watch.

Bonne was absolute class again today, gave everything he had. I love the point in the second half where the ball was going out of play and he just gave the Oldham player a nudge so it came off him last so we got the throw.

Parillon is unplayable at times, the lad has skills. Once he has had a preseason he is going to be a machine. He drifts past players like they aren't there, just like he did to set up the goal.

KAF was immense again, winning tackles and headers he has no right to win. He has an engine on him, he gets on with his work. That spin on the ball in the Oldham penalty area was beautiful to watch.

Normally don’t comment on the match thread but had to say that the team were excellent today and it was great to see such a team effort.
Also I was sceptical that the Blue Voice should relocate to the North Bank but what a great move. From the South Upper they were really loud and inspired the rest of the stands to join in. Well done to all.

What a great day and tonic after Tuesday. The fans were absolutely superb and the players delivered. I’m so proud of us tonight (SUFC). Wish I could’ve been there. Heart rate gave the nurses a scare towards the end but that’s because it was bursting with pride at the efforts of you brilliant lot.
