A game of two goalkeepers. The performance by one is at least debateable, the actions of the other was completely brainless. All the Collin critics would have been joyous at Jeacock coming in..........That didn't last long did it? Insane action for the red card, which there was no question about. Some in the East applauding him as he came off. Applauding him for what? losing us three points??? Those who don't like Collin will criticise his positioning for the goal. Others will see it as an unfortunate fluke; a cross that somehow found its way, over the keeper and into the top right-hand corner........s**t happens. You pay your money and you make your choice. Following a scrappy start, the match had settled down to an intruiging game until the red card ruined it as a contest .

I actually think it was someone else that said something after the non penalty incident but the ref gave Maher the Red card. Something else she got wrong

Was the fourth official who told her it was Maher, even though Bentley (I think) was saying it was him.

Why Jeacock looks so surprised at the red being shown cheeses me off even more!

Totally killed the game and owes the whole team an apology in the changing room behind close doors.

Having chosen to go with Bim and Walker up front, we never saw how that would have played out, thanks to Jeacock's rush of blood.

Collin only had one save of meaning, and yet again the winner comes from our right hand side.

Long ball puts yielded nothing nor did trying to pry for gaps in the Yeovil defence. Their 'keepers main task was gathering up.

Huff and puff sure and Yeovil offered similar, happy to pass the ball around and pry for gaps that we may have left, but no real threat apart from one shot Collin pushed out towards the left had side.

Kevin sending off was nothing to do with Ref it was the 4th! She just acted on what he said but the second Yellow/Red he didn't actually say anything so not sure where that came from. In terms of reffing performances that was up there with the worst - only one that was correct was the sending off!

I said pre game I felt there would be a come down after the big game last week.
We huffed and puffed and may have nicked it with 11.
Fluky goal compounded the red card.
All a bit poop.
My only real criticism today is kev not reacting to the Yeovil subs on 60 mins.
Should have matched em on the fresh legs front.

Ref was awful regardless of sex.
And anyone who thinks that relocating to NB wouldn’t make a difference needs to give their head a wobble. I was in east blacks and all I could hear was the Yeovil fans. TBV was a bit more vocal in the 2nd half but was always drowned out by the 250 odd Yeovil fans.
Poor game with an absent midfield.
I worry about both our keepers.

I think this picture shows the disbelief from the bench, PC on commentary wasn't convinced Kev was the guilty party, more the 4th official heard something and Kev took the fall.

Jeacock should've been sent off. However, when the ref plays advantage and Yeovil go on to miss that chance, how can she then pull it back and give the red? She's literally allowing the goalscoring chance that Jeacock denied to occur.

It makes a mockery of the decision to play on if you consider from a tactical view that we were better off letting the ball trickle into the net to keep Jeacock on the field.

We have had some bad referees in the past but she was dreadful. I have always said Men should referee men’s matches and women stick to women’s matches. I don’t like women commentators covering men’s football and will always turn the telly or radio off if that happens.

Where to start?

Game ruined within 30 minutes thanks to an idiotic referee and a dreadful goalkeeper mistake gives the ref a great reason to make the game all about her.

But to be honest we looked so poor. Misplaced passes, sideways and backwards. We could have played with 11 until next week and still not scored.

A total bore fest that would normally end a 0-0 draw, as Yeovil were just as great at playing it sideways and backwards.

There’s a time and place for that football but it’s getting so tedious watching us attempt it in this ****house league with players who aren’t up to it.

I was expecting a comedown after last week’s showing but not quite as bad as that.

Edit: Oh and for that **** Nouble, forgot he even existed until today he’s that irrelevant. He’s that bad he has to give it large when a teammate scores as he can’t bag one himself

The sub making is one of the most frustrating aspect of the Southend Coaching team.
We have just played a blood and thunder FA cup game and run our arses off, then we go a man down and still don’t utilise fresh legs until way too late. It’s usually AFTER the opposition has gone in front anyway. Be PRO-ACTIVE for heavens sake, it’s what good management and success is all about.

Maher shouldn’t be getting sent off that’s unforgivable we’re down to 10 men stop acting like a petulant child and get on with it the whole game was pony had 0 0 written all over it then they cross it and it rockets in the top corner we’re doing nothing this season 4 home looses in 8 and it was a stone wall pen on pepple a women shouldn’t be reffing a man’s game but there you go
