well the youngsters need to show on the training pitch that they are better than the seniors then, dont they.

people dont pick weak teams just for fun, and if any of the youngsters were looking good enough in training they would have surely have got a chance by now dont you think?

Any youngster given a professional contract has been deemed good enough by this or any other football club!

The truth is we play forwards who rarely score!,Yesterday was depressing to watch and on that showing even if we make the play off I don't fancy us to progress let alone win at Wembley.

Would Williams(I know)if given the chance perform any worse than Lee or Fred?

Agreed, but BBBC seems much more of a threat the way we play so why not start with him and if he tires bring Barney on to finish the opposition off after Barry has battered them into submission ?

Barnard has done ok with Loza but as I said before the game Corr offers more, and whilst he didnt score he looked far more of a threat than anyone when he came on.

I'm not sure I'm happy with this witch hunt and using Barnard as a scapegoat though, I didn't see a lot to be impressed by anyone yesterday.

Overally its an awful result and probably the most winnable of our remaining games.

Dont think we deserved to lose it, but we certainly didnt do enough to win it.

Oh dear. Seriously ?

We had pace in the side, we had two up front.

We still had no penetration, are you saying we need more pace ?

We didnt use the pace we had in the team, why would adding another quick player with no experience make any difference. Loza has now had 3 mediocre games, just being quick isnt enough, we need players who can deliver. We also need to use Loza in the right way, he plays too deep and yesterday rarely tried to beat the player with pace, there were times he was with a solitary defender on the left and kept coming deep to receive the ball.

Corr has to play with Loza, we need his presence on the pitch and we need to get Loza to use his pace where it will hurt the opposition as he made it far too easy for them yesterday.

first sentence is not strictly true is it. to get a contract they will have been deemed to have enough potential to make the grade at some point, but that point almost certainly isnt at the start of the contract and a lot of the time it may well be after their first contract is over.

There is no witch hunt IMO,Every manager has to give his chosen few every opportunity say 7 games but then if the player fails and fails again then the manager has to rethink,I could understand if the club had paid a massive fee for Barney but he is after all another loan player who cannot cut it anymore,How many more games will Phil give Lee?

We are in the basement league and meant to be cash strapped and bankrupt,Why persevere with a loan player whilst an actual contracted youngster(who may play better)cannot even make the bench,Phil has bigged up JW in the past yet does not even trust him to get splinters in his backside.

Because he isnt ready yet, its not rocket science.

But that's the problem we will never know if he doesn't play!

Phil selects the same old worn out brigade who fail to deliver,Fred's tap in and Lee's penalty is what they have returned yet they still are played either from the start or from the bench and frankly it's not good enough,For all I know young Williams could play even worse than these 2 but I would at least give him the chance.

We dont need to know, we dont select the side. The manager does and he knows because he sees him in training and development matches

What is he meant to do, play a player that he thinks isn't good enough so we can decide whether he is good enough. :omg:

On that basis,

He picks Lee and Fred and Phil must know by now these 2 cannot deliver.

The problem yesterday, as it has been for some time, is that there was little or no SERVICE from midfield. Forwards can't do anything much if they're not getting service!!!

On that basis he picks Corr.

Eastwood has scored a winner in the last 3 games, (where he played 30 minutes in total) but we can ignore that cant we.

No!!!!

It's lack of pace. Oh no we have pace now.

Its 2 up front!!!! Oh no we have two up front.

Indeed OBL, but hey its easier to blame the strikers every game isn't it.

We have had 2 games at home in a row where its the same, no penetration, and against Torquay one of the strikers scored.

the point is that whilst you might not know, the management team see him day in day out and are in a far better position to decide.

Yesterday Corr was on the bench which surprised me,I still believe Corr and Loza up front can be decent but IMO they have to play close to each other,Yes I would start these 2 and have Williams on the bench who could come on in the final 20 against tiring defenders and you never know could do the business ,Little point in persevering with Fred and Lee as they have had numerous chances.

Fred has scored since Loza last did.

Didnt think Corr and Loza worked yesterday but didnt really have enough time andagree that their link up can be worked on. Corr was getting frustrated as he was winning the ball but Loza wasnt getting into the space he was playing the ball in.

Loza was frustrating yesterday, as I said earlier he keeps coming too deep, often 10 yards or more behind the defenders, thats not making the use of his pace at all. Dont want us to play long ball but he rarely gave us the option to do anything to pass it to him with his back to goal.

As for Williams, if Brown thinks he is ready, put him on the bench, if not leave him off of it. Different is not better.

EDIT: WIlliams is currently injured according to the U18s report, so ready or not he wont be in contention so you can let that one rest

We had 7 days to prepare for that game and not 1 player turned up ! People are slating Murphy for his poor cross etc might want to get some perspective the messiah from 8 yards sent the ball over the flats and into the high street !! Midson and the little rouge Appiah gave our back 4 all sorts of problems and fair play to them in my opinion our midfield was to deep hence woeful balls to Lord Barnard who yes was cack and cut a disinterested figure at times but with service like that you can't blame him... As for Hurst I'd give home 2 weeks off as for whatever reason he looks jaded in March April (as per last year) .. We got what we deserved naff all the players and Mngmt team need to look at themselves .. Our game is based on pressing and intensity sadly that was missing from 3.07pm yesterday!

Just had a look on sufcdb, before sturrock was sacked we had lost 5 and drawn 1 of the previous 6 home games one of which was Wimbledon (we lost 3-1 to them).

Yeah just checked, Torquay was the other one, at least we won that one this year (just)

I'm not sure your user name is the most appropriate!!!

As for saying no-one turned up, I think that's harsh on some of them. Timlin had one of his best games of the season and Egan and Sokolik were solid as usual.

It is midfield where we have problems, we have Timlin and Leonard, both defensive midfielders yet both of them seem to be creating more chances than the two seemingly more attacking ones in Atkinson and Hurst. We saw some nice stuff at times from both of them yesterday but nowhere near enough. And there is virtually no link up play from midfield to the forwards, I don't think I saw a cross yesterday from anyone other than John White before the substitutions!
